Continuing its average run at the box office across India, the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom earned Rs 1.80 cr in its third weekend.
With collections of Rs 1.80 cr in its third weekend, Bell Bottom is now inching towards the Rs 30 cr mark in India.
The film has earned approximately Rs 28 cr at the end of its third weekend .
Bell Bottom is the first Hindi film to near the Rs 30 cr mark at the box office in India since Baghi 3 , which released in March last year.

However, collections of Rs 28 cr for Bell Bottom are below the expectations of the film trade, which had been expecting the film to cross the Rs 50 cr mark at the box office considering that its promos and trailer had been creating a huge buzz in film circles before its release.
Infact, the film trade had hoped that Bell Bottom and the Amitabh Bachchan Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre would kickstart the process of revival of the film business by drawing audiences back to the theatres.
However, while Bell Bottom earned Rs 13 crore at the box office in its opening weekend, Chehre earned just Rs 2.25 crore in its opening weekend.
The average showing of the Bollywood films has been attributed to the theatres across India operating at just 50 percent occupancy and the closure of cinema halls in Maharashtra, which forms a big market for Hindi films.
Amid the average run of the Bollywood films, Hollywood films Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings and Fast and the Furious 9 have been rocking the box office .
While Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings earned Rs 6.50 cr in two days from theatres across India, Fast and the Furious 9 earned Rs 5.25 crore from cinemas halls in India in its first three days .
The above average earnings of the Hollywood films has been attributed to their good showing in the South.
Cinema halls in Maharashtra continue to remain closed due to threat of Delta variant of covid and looming threat of third wave.
The coming week will see the release of Thalaivi, biopic on life of late Tamil Naidu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

A multilingual film, which is being released in Hindi and several South Indian languages, Thalaivi is mainly targeted at Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states.
Amid uncertainty on reopening of theatres in Maharashtra, not many filmmakers have announced release of their films in September and October, preferring to schedule the release at an opportune period.
While Sajid Nadiadwala's Tadap is scheduled for release in cinemas in December, others like makers of RRR and KGF 2 have scheduled release of the films next year.
