Rakul Preet Singh excited about her character in Doctor G

After endearing herself to cinelovers with her sprightly girl act in De De Pyar De and Sardar KaGrandson, Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in a new look in her next Hindi film Doctor G,  which will feature her in the role of a doctor.

Doctor G, which features Rakul in the lead opposite Ayushmann Khurrana,  will see Rakul play a senior Doctor Fatima.

The actress said that Doctor G is a film that she is extremely thrilled about.

She said that shooting for the film has been an interesting experience and she is looking forward to the reaction of the public to her character.

'Presenting Dr Fatima ! One of my most exciting characters. It is  a script that I am super thrilled about ! ,'Rakul Preet Singh said.

The actress said that  transforming herself for the role of a doctor was challenging. 

'Shooting for Doctor G has turned out to be an interesting experience. Since I play a doctor, the mannerisms and actions needed to be precise. It was important to learn crucial things related to the medical world to make the character look real on screen. The journey of becoming Doctor Fatima was an amazing process which I will cherish forever,'Rakul Preet Singh said.

For the actress,  perfecting the look and the mannerisms of Dr Fatima was especially challenging .

'Our main objective was to ensure that the members of the medical fraternity in the film comes across as true to life. To ensure that the character of Dr Fatima comes across as realistic,  I had to go through several look tests . Another big challenge was to ensure that I am able to bring out the endearing quality of the role of Dr Fatima and her sense of responsibility towards her patients,'Rakul Preet Singh said.

Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Junglee Pictures, Doctor G stars  Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles with Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha cast  in supporting roles.

Shooting for the film,  which began in July, was held in several locations in Prayagraj and Bhopal.

Doctor G,  which marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap,  the sister of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, is based in the campus of a medical college in Prayagraj.

Ayushmann Khurrana plays Dr Uday Gupta in the film while Rakul Preet Singh plays his senior Dr Fatima.  Shefali Shah also plays a doctor in the film.

Doctor G  marks Ayushmann's third collaboration with Jungalee Pictures,  after the 2017 film Bareilly Ki Barfi and the 2018 film Badhaai Ho.

It is also the first time that Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh will be sharing screen space in a film.

Ayushmann Khurrana will in the coming days also be seen in Abhishek Kapoor 's Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opposite Vaani Kapoor and Anek which has been directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in the Ajay Devgn Amitabh Bachchan starrer May Day.

She will also be seen in the Hindi films Attack and Thank God.
