Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli, The Fame Game, starring Madhuri Dixit as actress Anamika Anand, will take viewers through the highs and lows that accompany an actress' rise to fame.
The trailer of The Fame Game, released last week, takes viewers through the illusory and ephemeral world of fame that accompanies the stardom in the tinsel world.
The series also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Suhasini Mulay, Muskkaan Jaferi, Lakshvir Saran and Rajshri Deshpande in pivotal roles.
Talking about the series, producer Karan Johar said,“It’s a sophisticated, complex family drama that shows you how fame, despite being so covetable, can turn your life upside down. Sri Rao, Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli beautifully capture the complexities and hidden realities of a Bollywood superstar, while highlighting relatable elements of family and trust. Plus, it has the finest talents in the industry like the gorgeous Madhuri Dixit Nene, Manav Kaul, Sanjay Kapoor, as well as some amazing young stars like Lakshvir Saran and Muskkaan Jaferi.'
For Muskkaan Jaferi, who plays Anamika Anand's daughter in the web series, and Lakshvir Saran, who plays Anamika's son in the series, working with Madhuri Dixit in the show has been a dream come true.
'Working with Madhuri Dixit Nene has been a dream come true for me,. When I got a call for the role and came to know that I would be working with Madhuri Dixit I could not believe it.
Infact, I was too starstruck to say anything when I met her on the sets of The Fame Game for the first time. Just sitting alongside her seemed surreal, 'Muskkaan Jaferi said ahead of the premiere of the show on Netflix.
On her role in the series, Muskkaan Jaferi said that her character in the show also wants to become a big star like her mother Anamika Anand.
Incidentally, Muskkaan Jaferi is the daughter of legendary Comedian Jagdeep and the sister of aactor Comedian Javed Jafery.
For Lakshvir Saran too, getting to work in the series alongside Madhuri Dixit has been a great experience.
'Getting the show has been a great opportunity. Infact, I was extremely nervous while shooting scenes with her,'he said.
