Maharani 2 to stream on Sony Liv from August 25

After entertaining audiences with an intriguing powerplay in opening season,  the political thriller Maharani is back with its second season, which streams on Sony Liv from August 25.

Season 2 will continue from where the first season ended.

Bheema Bharti (Sohum Shah) is now out of prison and is ready to claim back the political position, which is now with  his wife Rani (Huma Qureshi). The second season will show him fighting Rani by all means to reclaim his political position even if it means defaming her.

First season of the series,  which released last year, got laudatory reviews from audiences and critics.  Performances by Huma Qureshi,  who played Rani Bharti, and Sohum Shah,  who played Bhima Bharti,,came in for a lot of praise from the audiences and critics.

While Huma Qureshi stars in the lead role,  Maharani 2 also stars Sohum Shah, Vineet Kumar,  Amit Sial and Neha Chouhan in the lead roles.

The makers of the show earlier this month unveiled the trailer of the series.
