Romantic comedy Govinda Naam Mera premieres on Hotstar this week

After the success of the romantic drama Sita Ramam,  Disney Hotstar is set to premiere on its platform a romantic comedy Govinda Naam Mera, the story of a background dancer whose life gets in a mess after he becomes the main suspect in a murder case.



Romantic comedy Govinda Naam Mera premieres on Hotstar on December 16


Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Govinda Naam Mera, which streams  on Disney   from December 16, is the story of background dancer Govinda Waghmare whose life is in disarray- while his wife is having an affair,  he has a girlfriend named Suku. Chaos ensues in his life when Govinda becomes a major suspect in a murder case.

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios,  Govinda Naam Mera stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role with Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar.

The release of Govinda  Naam  Mera comes after the success of the romantic drama Sita Ramam, the story of an Army and and a queen  narrated through letters.

Vicky Kaushal  was last seen in the critically acclaimed  film Sardar Udham, a biopic on Udham Singh, who assassinated General Michael O Dwyer, the person who was responsible for the horrific Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

The film won Vicky Kaushal acclaim from critics for his performance as Sardar Udham Singh.
