Ajay Devgn meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to showcase Bhuj The Pride of India

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn today met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi to showcase his latest film Bhuj The Pride of India,  which deals with heroic efforts by armed forces during the 1971 Indo Pakistan war.

Ajay Devgn shared a picture of his meeting with the Defence Minister.

'Honoured to meet the Honourable Minister of Defence, India, Rajnath Singh ji. He saw some clips of Bhuj:The Pride of India. For me, it was a befitting platform to showcase the film, that captured India’s victory over Pakistan 50 years ago. Jai Hind ,'Devgn said.

Rajnath Singh also tweeted about his meeting with Ajay Devgn,  describing him as a 'wonderful actor and a good Human Beings.

'Met with renowned Hindi Film actor @ajaydevgn today. He is a wonderful actor and a good human being. He has made a film depicting the heroic efforts of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war. I wish him success in his future endeavours,'' Rajnath Singh said.



Ajay Devgn meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to showcase Bhuj The Pride of India 


Bhuj The Pride of India,  the story of the valour of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik who toiled day in and day out to reconstruct the airbase at Bhuj after the Pakistani Air Force had destroyed the base during the 1971 war, premiered on Disney Hotstar today.

It is   a story of how Vijay Karnik (Ajay Devgn)   reconstructed  the Bhuj airbase with the help of 300 local women after the Pakistani Air Force had destroyed the base .

During the 1971 Indo‑Pak war, the IAF airstrip and the airbase at Bhuj were destroyed  by the  Pakistani Air Force. Subsequently, 300 local women led by IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik heroically toiled day in and day out to reconstruct the airbase. This act of resilience was a pivotal moment which not only boosted the morale of the country, but also helped us win the war.

Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, Bhuj The Pride of India  features Ajay Devgn as IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk and debutante Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon.

The film, which has been produced by Bhushan Kumar of T series along with Kumar Mangat Pathak, was earlier slated for theatrical release  on  August 13  during the Independence Day weekend, but the  continuing uncertainty on reopening of theatres in the country due to continuing threat of second wave of COVID-19 led the makers to announce the release of the film on Disney Hotstar on August 13.
