Fortunate to have got opportunity to work with accomplished actors in Tabbar; Ajitpal Singh

It is a web series that has caught the attention of viewers for its gripping storyline and its brilliant performances.

Amid accolades coming the way of webseries Tabbar, which is currently streaming on Sony Liv digital platform,  it's director Ajitpal Singh says that he has got an opportunity to work with such accomplished actors as Pawan Malhotra,  kanwaljit Singh, Supriya Pathak and Ranveer Shorey.

'I am fortunate to have worked with such accomplished actors as Pawan Malhotra,  kanwaljit Singh , Supriya Pathak and Ranveer Shorey in Tabbar.,'Ajitpal Singh said  during the promotions for the series on Kapil Sharma show on Sony entertainment television.

Tabbar, which features Pawan Malhotra,  Supriya Pathak,  Gagan Arora,  Ranveer Shorey and Kanwaljit Singh in pivotal roles,  has won plaudits from audiences as well as critics for its realistic portrayal of life of a middle class family  in  Punjab,  far removed from the Bollywood images of a Punjabi family being about fun and frolic.

Ajitpal Singh said that his previous experience has been of working with rank newcomers which required him to undertake lot of preparations before coming on the sets to help the actors understand the real essence of the show and their roles.

'In all my earlier shows I have worked with rank newcomers. So it has become my regular drill to thoroughly prepare myself before coming on the sets to help  the actors prepare well for their roles and help them understand the essence of the show.

So it was a pleasant surprise for me to work with accomplished actors like Ranveer Shorey, pawan Malhotra and kanwaljit Singh. They are all veterans who can grasp the essence of the story and  graph of their character in a short time.. in this context working with these actors made my job as a director quite easy,'Ajitpal Singh said.

The show,  which features Pawan Malhotra, Supriya Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Gagan Arora, and Paramvir Singh Cheema, revolves around a family, a middle-aged couple with two grown-up sons. One of them goes to study in Delhi and then a series of incidents happen that turn their lives upside down.

Set in Jalandhar in Punjab,  Tabbar is the story of how life if the Singh family takes a 360 degree turn after an unfortunate incident .

Written by Harman Wadala and Sandeep Jain, the series is produced by Ajay G. Rai of JAR Pictures.
