Anil Kapoor teams up with son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor for thriller Thar on Netflix

With the OTT emerging as the new destination for entertainment,  increasing number of Bollywood actors are making their presence felt on the digital screen.

After Deepika Padukone in Gehraiyaan,  Ajay Devgn in Rudra-The Edge of Darkness and Madhuri Dixit in The Fame Game,  Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor now teams up with son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor for an action thriller Thar on Netflix.

Directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary,  who is making making his directorial debut, Thar stars Anil Kapoor and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor with Fatima Sana Shaikh in key roles.

Set in the 80s, Thar, produced by Anil Kapoor, is the story of Siddharth,  assayed by Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, who embarks on a journey to avenge his past.

Talking about the film, which is inspired by Western Noir genres,  Anil Kapoor said he is extremely excited about the film.

“I am extremely proud of what we have achieved with Thar and am super excited about the film for several reasons. The genre itself – a noir thriller set in Rajasthan that pays tribute to the genre of the classic Western is a first for Indian cinema and audiences,'Anil Kapoor said.

''Thar’ is a playground where the dynamism of new blood meets the experience of industry stalwarts, both on and off-screen. On-screen we see the fresh pairing of Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Fatima Sana Sheikh and off-screen we see director Raj Singh Chaudhary creating magic with a team of ambitious, risk-taking debutantes – Director of Photography Shreya Dev Dube and Music Composer Ajay Jayanthi. As an actor and a producer, I have always strived to push the envelope and disrupt the status quo with innovative content, ''Anil Kapoor added.

The film has been shot in some of the most aesthetic locations in the country.

Anil Kapoor was last seen in the dark thriller AK vs AK, which streamed on Netflix.
