Kadru is welcome change from sweet and traditional girl roles played by me till now; Parul Chauhan

She has carved a niche for herself on television as a sweet middle class girl and a traditional girl girl in shows like Sapna Babul Ka Bidai, Rishton Se Badi Pratha and Punar Vivah Ek Nayi Umeed.

The new show Dharm Yoddha Garud,  being telecast on Sab TV,  will see actress Parul Chauhan in a new avatar as the evil Queen Kadru who has enslaved her elder sister Vinta (Toral Rasputra).

Parul Chauhan,  who was last seen in the television show Punar Vivah Ek Nayi Umeed, says that playing the evil Queen Kadru is a welcome change for her from the roles of sweet and traditional girl in various shows.

In a chat,  Parul Chauhan said that she is thrilled about playing Kadru.

'Kadru in Dharm Yoddha Garud is an out and out negative character. Playing Kadru is a welcome change for me from the character of sweet girl that I have been doing all these years.  I am completely enjoying it,'Parul Chauhan said.

Parul Chauhan said that her is one of the most pivotal characters in Dharm Yoddha Garud.

'Kadru is one of the most pivotal characters in Dharm Yoddha Garud. The character has a lot of shades to it. As an actor,  it was a challenge for me to make the character of Kadru come across as devilish, 'she said.

Parul said that she was excited about the concept as soon as she heard the script.

'I was excited about the project the moment I heard the script.  The first thing that attracted me to the show was that the story of Garud has never before been told on Indian television.  Another factor that attracted me to it was that it has a amazing VFX and special effects.  Also,  the character of Kadru was something totally different from what I have done before, 'she said.

Parul said that she is excited to make her comeback to television after three years with a show like Dharm Yoddha Garud.

'I am excited to make my comeback to television after three years with a show like Dharm Yoddha Garud.  Also,  as an actor it is thrilling to play a character which requires you to completely immerse yourself in it,'she said.

Featuring Indian Television’s much loved face Faisal Khan in the lead, Dharm Yoddha Garud tells the untold story of King of Birds Garud,  a popular name in Indian mythology who was the devotee charioteer of Lord Vishnu.

Dharm Yoddha Garud begins on the premise of Garud’s birth, who despite being born as a bird-human with incredible strength and powers to the great sage Rishi Kashyap and Vinta is compelled to obey the orders of his cunning aunt Kadru and his stepbrothers including Kaaliya and the 1000 snakes.

Blessed with a stellar ensemble of actors, Dharm Yoddha Garud also features, Ankit Raaj, Parul Chauhan, Toral Rasputra, Hrishikesh Pandey, Vishal Karwal, Amit Bhanushali and more in pivotal roles.
