Rudra-The Edge of Darkness records highest viewership ever on Disney Hotstar

Having carved a niche for himself as the country's favorite on screen supercop in films like Apharan, Singham and Singham Returns,  superstar Ajay Devgn has won hearts of the audience with his captivating charisma in the psychological thriller web series Rudra The Edge of Darkness,  being streamed on Disney Hotstar.

Hotstar Specials ' Rudra-The Edge of Darkness,  which marks Ajay Devgn’s digital debut,  has been applauded by fans, critics and the industry.

Premiered on Disney Hotstar on March 4, Rudra-The Edge of Darkness recorded the highest viewership received for any drama on the platform.

The web series has been trending at the number one spot since its release on March 4.

Devgn’s act of a sombre, smouldering cop undergoing tempestuous personal tides in the riveting new crime thriller directed by Rajesh Mapuskar and the ensemble cast has been receiving an overwhelming response since its launch.

Set in Mumbai, Rudra-The Edge of Darkness is a race-against-the-clock thriller that delves into the psyche of highly intelligent criminals and the detective who hunts them. Each episode in the series features a new threat even as the overarching series arc continues, portraying the grave personal cost at which DCP Rudra Veer Singh pursues criminals and killers and the unlikely friendship that he forms with Aliyah, a genius sociopath.

In the series, Mumbai, the metropolis goes beyond being a mere backdrop for our hero’s vigilante actions but sets the very stage upon which the war between good and evil is waged. Even in this darkness, Rudra believes there is still love in the world. Because in the end, humanity is all we've got. And it is for this belief that Rudra sacrifices everything he has.
