The Kashmir Files to release on Zee5 on May 13

After taking the box office in India by storm, The Kashmir Files is set to have its premiere on the OTT next month.

The Kashmir Files,  which is based on real life incidents of exodus of Kashmiri pandits from the Kashmir Valley during the period of insurgency,  will premiere on Zee5 streaming platform on May 13.

The Kashmir Files, which released in cinemas on March 11, has been on a dream run at the box office in India ever since its release.

Having crossed the milestone of Rs 250 cr, The Kashmir Files is among the highest grossing Hindi films of the year alongside Sooryavanshi,  RRR and KGF2.

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files,  based on the exodus of Kashmiri pandits during the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir , is a part of trilogy of films on various burning political events in the country.

Produced by Zee Studios and written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in key roles.

The Kashmir Files is the second in the trilogy of films , beginning with The Tashkent Files, which was based in the mysterious death of former prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The third in the trilogy is The Delhi Files, based in the anti Sikh riots of 1984.

It opened to mixed reviews in India.  Critics have praised the performance of Anupam kher in the film.
