Bollywood celebrities lend voice to patriotic song Hum Hindustani on I Day eve

More than three decades after the Mile Sur Mera Tumhara song  saw several Indian celebrities from the world of sports, music and films lend their voice to promote india's unity in diversity,  celebrities from the world of Bollywood have lent their voices to a new song Hum Hindustani that reflects the essence of India.

Bollywood celebrities,  including legendary figures like Amitabh Bachchan,  Lata Mangeshkar,  veteran artists Padmini Kolhapure,  Anil Agarwal,  Sonu Nigam Alka Yagnik,  Shabbir Kumar and Kailash Kher and Generation next of Bollywood stars including Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Shruti Hassan,Tara Sutaria, Ankit Tiwari, Siddhanth Kapoor and Jannat Zuber have lent their voices for the song, produced by Priyaank Sharma and Paras Mehta for their music label Dhamaka Records.

The song Hum Hindustani has been released on the YouTube channel of Dhamaka Records.

Sharing the announcement on its social media handle,  Dhamaka Records said,

Music direction for the song has been given by Dilshaad Shabbir Shaikh along with lyricist and composer Kashish Kumar.

The release of the song comes 33 years sfter several celebrities from the world of music, sports and films lent their voices for music video Mile Sur Mera Tumhara,  aimed at instilling a sense of pride and promote unity amongst Indians and  highlighting India's different linguistic communities and societies.

Mile Sur Mera Tumhara was telecast for the first time on Independence Day, 1988, after the telecast of the Prime Minister's speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

Among ghose who lent their voices for Mile Sur Mera Tumhara were

Vijaya, Waheeda Rehman, Shabana Azmi, Deepa Sahi, Om Puri, Bhisham Sahni, Amrish Puri, Dina Pathak, Harish Patel, Virendra Saxena, Suhasini, Uttam Mohanty, Pratap Pothen and Geetanjali;Sportsmen: Prakash Padukone, Arun Lal, Ramanathan Krishnan, S Venkataraghavan, Chuni Goswami, P.
