Sang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings,  Fast and the Furious 9 off to a rocking start in India

By Rajesh Ahuja

Amid an average run for Bollywood films Bell Bottom and Chehre,  Hollywood films Sang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings  and Fast and the Furious 9 got off to a rocking start at the box office.

Sang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings, which released in theatres across India on Friday, earned around Rs 3.25 cr at the box office on its opening day,  surpassing the opening day collections of Bell Bottom and Chehre.

Trade sources said that the bulk of the collections of the film have come from Andhra and Delhi and NCR. Infact,  collections of the film in Delhi and NCR are best for a Hollywood film post the pandemic,  exceeding even earnings of Godzilla Vs Kong.

Trade experts say that the earnings of the film could have been higher if cinemas in Maharashtra had been open. However,  cinema halls in Maharashtra continue to remain closed due to threat of Delta variant of covid.
