Sushmita Sen 's Aarya,Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vir Das bag nomination at International Emmy Awards

Sushmita Sen's action drama web series Aarya bagged the nomination for Best Drama series at the international Emmy Awards while Nawazuddin Siddiqui bagged the award for Best actor for web series Serious Men on Netflix and comedian Vir Das bagged a nomination for the best comedy series on Netflix.
Aarya bagged the nomination for Best Drama series alongside the series El Presidente from Chile, Tehran from Israel and There she Goes from United Kingdom.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui bagged the nomination for Best performance by an actor in a web series for Serious Men on Netflix. Nawazuddin Siddiqui featured in nomination list alongside Christian Tappan in The Great Heist from Colombia, Roy Nik in Normali from Israel and David Tenant in Des from United Kingdom.
Vir Das bagged a nomination in the Best comedy series alongside Call My Agent season 4, Motherland; Christmas Special from the United Kingdom and Campaign Promises from Colombia.

Crime thriller series Aarya, story of an ordinary woman who takes charge of her life and her family after the murder of her husband and takes help from the mafia to avenge death of her husband, marked Sushmita Sen’s debut on the digital screen.
Created by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi and directed by Sandeep Modi, Aarya was produced by Ram Madhvani under the banner Ram Madhvani Films, along with Endemol Shine Group.
Based on the Dutch drama series Penoza, Aarya is about Aarya, an independent woman who seeks to protect her family after murder of her husband and joins a mafia gang in order to get revenge for her husband's murder.
The web series starred Sushmita Sen in the titular role while featuring Chandrachur Singh, Sikander Kher, Maya Sarad, Jayant Kriplani and Manish Chaudhary in key roles.
The first season, which began streaming on Disney Hotstar last year, created a lot of buzz . Sushmita Sen got lot of appreciation for her performance as Aarya.
Sushmita Sen won the award for Best actor Female at the Filmfare OTT awards held earlier this year.
Second season of the web series is expected to release in 2021.
Vir Das also expressed his excitement on bagging the nomination for Best comedy series at the international Emmy Awards.
'Umm…I think I just got nominated for the #internationalemmyawards uh… . but I’m just so happy it’s for a show about my culture, my people and how funny we are. The special was my love letter to India and this is just unbelievable,'he said.
