Sports drama Jhund with Amitabh Bachchan in lead releases this week

After impressing as a criminal lawyer in the psychological thriller Chehre last year, megastar Amitabh Bachchan is set to entertain audiences with the role of a sports teacher looking to rehabilitate street children by motivating them to form a football team in sports drama Jhund that releases in cinemas on March 4.

Directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by T series along with Tandav Films and Aatpat Films, Jhund is a biographical sports drama on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, which is looking to rehabilitate street children by keeping them off drugs and crime and turning them into soccer players.
Amitabh Bachchan will play the title role in the film, which also features Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru in pivotal roles.
Jhund has been postponed multiple times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film, which was wrapped up on August 31, 2019, was initially scheduled for release on September 20, 2019 but was postponed to December 13, 2019 and then further to May 2020.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the psychological thriller Chehre where he played the role of a criminal lawyer.
