Avatar The way of Water brings cheer to the film trade,earns Rs 40 cr on its opening day

Ending the lull at the box office,  after the poor response to recent releases  Bhediya,  An Action Hero,  Salaam Venky and Maarrich,  the Sci fi film Avatar The Way of Water has set the box office on fire, earning Rs 40 cr on its opening day in India.

Released on December 16 in IMAX and 3D formats, Avatar The Way of Water,  a sequel to the 2009 blockbuster Avatar,  is the second biggest Hollywood opener in India,  after Avengers Endgame,  which earned 53 cr on its opening day in India.

Directed by James Cameron, Avatar The way of Water is a sequel to the 2009 Hollywood film Avatar.

The film has created tremendous buzz among cinelovers due to its spectacular visual and VFX effects.

The rocking start taken by Avatar The Way of Water,  has brought cheer to the film trade which has witnessed recent films Bhediya, An Action Hero, Salaam Venky and Maarrich failing to draw crowds to the theatres. 

Infact,  barring The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiya2,  Brahmastra Part one and Drishyam2,  most Hindi films released post the pandemic have failed to enthuse audiences.
