Gadar 2 on way to create tsunami at the box office,  earns Rs 40 cr on opening day


The sunny Deol starrer becomes the second highest earner of 2023

Riding on the magic of the original film , the mind boggling action and the huge draw of action hero Sunny Deol,  Gadar 2 is on its way to create a tsunami at the box office with mind boggling collections of over Rs 40 cr on its opening day in India.

Released to unprecedented hype,  Gadar 2, a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar, seems set to create a rampage at the box office like the original film.

The magic of Tara Singh single handedly taking on the Pakistani establishment has once again set the box office on fire , drawing huge crowds at the theatres across the country.


Gadar2 takes a blockbuster opening in India, earns Rs 40 cr on its opening day 





Directed by Anil Sharma,  Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol,  Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead, seems set to cross the Rs 150 cr mark in the extended Independence day weekend in India.

Gadar 2 has done excellent business in Delhi and NCR,  Punjab, UP, Bihar and Saurashtra.

With collections of Rs 40 cr on its opening day,  Gadar 2 has become the second highest opener of 2023, after Shahrukh Khan's Pathaan.

The film has taken a historic opening in single screen theatres across the country with multiplexes in several parts of India recording huge occupancy.

With unprecedented level of advance booking for the weekend,  trade experts feel that the film could easily cross the Rs 15 cr mark at the box office in India in its opening weekend itself.

Directed by Anil Sharma and written by Shaktimaan, Gadar2 is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar. It features Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma who reprise their roles from the original film.

After Tara Singh goes missing during a skirmish on the border in 1971 and is believed to be imprisoned in Pakistan,Tara's son Charanjeet "Jeete" Singh goes to save him, but in the  process gets imprisoned and tortured by the Pakistan soldiers.  Learning about this after reuniting with Sakeena, Tara sets out to rescue Jeete from Hamid Iqbal and his men.
