Mahmood, a comedian par excellence and the first Indian comedian to receive greater prominence than the leading heroes in Hindi films, shared an excellent camaraderie on screen with legendary actor Dilip Kumar.
Reminiscing about the association between Dilip Kumar and Mahmood, the legendary actor's wife and Bollywood actress Saira Banu said both the actors had a phenomenal synergy on screen.

Going down memory lane, Saira Banu said, 'Dilip Sahib and Mahmood shared a remarkable camaraderie. I recall a hilarious scene from 'Sadhu Aur Shaitan ' where Sahib and Mumtaaz are strolling on the road, and Mahmood Bhai, in the role of a taxi driver, adds a comedic twist. Picture this: Sahib and Mumtaaz, blissfully unaware, are walking right in the middle of the road, and Mahmood Bhai, honking, exclaims''Are betrayal hai kya?
He then steps out of the taxi, saying, 'surat kya Dilip Kumar se milti hai. Acting bhi Dilip Kumar ki challenge. Are , film Line Mein Bahut Sare log Dilip Kumar! Ki Copy Karke Apne Ration Ka Kharcha Nikalte Hain"(a lot of people in the film world earn their living by imitating Dilip Kumar), leading to an uproarious fight. The synergy between Sahib and Mahmood Bhai on screen was nothing short of phenomenal. Imagine witnessing two legendary actors flawlessly blending their comic flair- it's an unforgettable experience, isn't it?''
Saira Banu recalled that Mahmood was the first comedian to receive greater prominence than the leading heroes in Hindi.

His extensive filmography includes numerous hits such as 'PADOSAN' and 'BOMBAY TO GOA','Saira Banu said in a post on Instagram.
During his career of more than four decades, Mahmood worked in over 300 Hindi films. He is known as India's national comedian.
