Celebrities from the Hindi film industry and the entertainment world today walked the red carpet at opening of the Tashkent international film festival in Uzbekistan.
A rousing welcome was given to the Indian celebrities at the glittering opening ceremony of the film festival in Tashkent this evening.
Among those honoured at the film festival, hosted by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, were Noted celebrities like Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Rahul Mittra, Boman Irani, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Rahul Rawail, Anurag Basu, Huma Qureshi, Gulshan Grover, Javed Jaffery, Sanjay Gupta, Neeraj Pathak, Deepak Tijori, Kunal Kapoor, Dino Morea, Jasbir Jassi, Ritu Berry, apart from other select Hollywood and international stars like Steven Seagal, Timur Bikmambetov, Rob Minkoff and Gerard Depardie .

The theme of this edition of the festival, which is being attended by 15 countries including India, Italy, Russia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Tajikistan and Turkey, is "Peace, Enlightenment and Progress".
Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga, Anurag Basu’s Ludo and Rahul Mittra’s Sanjay Dutt starrer Torbaaz, which was shot in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan, will be screened at this festival, which will hold screenings of Indian films as part of 'Days of Indian Cinema ' on September 28 and 29.
The festival will have a performance by Punjabi rock singer Jasbir Jassi at the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace on September 29.
