Filmmakers line up release of their films after decision to allow reopening of theatres in Maharashtra

Bollywood filmmakers today lined up release of their films in theatres after decision of the Maharashtra government to allow reopening of theatres in the state.
A day after the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the theatres in the state will reopen from October 22, many filmmakers and film production houses announced the release dates of their upcoming films.
Yash Raj Films, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ajay Devgn, Excel entertainment, Abhishek Kapoor, T series and Akshay Kumar announced the release of their films in the coming months following the decision to reopen theatres in Maharashtra.

A day after makers of Sooryavanshi announced release of the film on Diwali, Yash Raj Films announced release of biggies Bunty Aur Babli2, Prithviraj, Shamshera and Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
While Bunty Aur Babli2 releases on November 19,Prithviraj will release in cinemas on January 21 next year, Jayeshbhai Jordaar on Feb 25 and Shamshera on Mar 18.
Aamir Khan Productions postponed release of their film Laal Singh Chaddha to Valentines Day next year.
Ranveer Singh's 83, a film based on India's win in the Cricket World cup, will now release on Christmas.
Sajid Nadiadwala announced release date his films Tadap, Bachchan Pandey and Heropanti 2 on December 3, March 4 and May 6 next year respectively.
Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey will release in cinemas on December 31.
The Kartik Aaryan Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiya 2 will release on March 25 while Ajay Devgn Amitabh Bachchan starrer May Day releases on April 29.
Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu releases on Diwali next year while KGF2 releases on Apr 14 next year.
Abhishek Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui releases on December 10 this year while Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan releases on August 11 next year.
Makers of the John Abraham Arjun Kapoor starrer Ek Villain returns, a sequel to the Sidharth Malhotra Shraddha Kapoor starrer Ek Villain announced that the film will release in cinemas on July 8 next year.
Trade experts said that the decision of the Maharashtra government to reopen theatres has been followed by a flood of film releases across the country.

Earlier, makers of Sooryavanshi announced release of the film on Diwali. The announcement came after a meeting of Director Rohit Shetty with the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Trade experts say that the coming days are likely to witness announcement of release dates of more films.
An unprecedented surge in covid cases in the country in April had resulted in makers of mega starrers Haathi Mere Saathi, Bunty Aur Babli2, Chehre, Sooryavanshi , Satyamev Jayate 2 and Toofan postponing release of these films till a later date.
