Shang Chi witnesses jump in its collections on Sunday,  earns Rs 10.75 cr in its opening weekend in India

Continuing its strong run at the box office in India,  Hollywood film Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings saw a sharp jump in its collections on Sunday.

Shang Chi recorded earnings of Rs 4.25 cr on Sunday,  taking its total earnings on the opening weekend to Rs 10.75 crore.

There was a sharp jump in the earnings of the film in Delhi and  and South India,  especially in Andhra Pradesh,  on Sunday. While the film earned approximately Rs 2 crore from Andhra Pradesh on Sunday,  it earned Rs 90 lakh from Delhi and NCR on Sunday.

The gross earnings of the film on its opening weekend are Rs 12.6 crore.


Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings earns Rs 10.75 crore in its opening weekend 



The film had earned Rs 6.50 cr on the first two days.  It took a rocking start with earnings of Rs 3 crore on its opening day. Collections saw a rise on Saturday to Rs 3.5 cr.

The good showing of the film comes despite the theatres operating at just 50 per cent occupancy across India and the closure of cinema halls in Maharashtra,  which accounts for the maximum number of cinema screens in India.

The good box office  performance of the Hollywood film comes amid an average run for the Bollywood films Bell Bottom and Chehre.

While Bell Bottom recorded collections of Rs 2.75  cr on its opening day,  Chehre earned just Rs 45 lakh on its opening day.

Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings  had witnessed heavy rush in advance booking prior to its release.

Trade sources say that the film is likely to continue its strong run on weekdays as well.

Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings released in theatres across India on Friday.

Shang Chi has earned record revenues of 127.6 million dollars (Rs 932 crore) in its opening weekend Worldwide, a record for a  film released post the pandemic.
