As the country celebrates the festivals of Durga Puja and Dussehra, a series of web series and films running across diverse genres are lined up for telecast on the various streaming platforms during this festive season.
Lined up for release on the digital platforms this week are action and psychological thrillers, slice of life love stories and intriguing emotional dramas.
This week will witness the release of hostage drama Sanak Hope Under Seige, sports drama Rashmi Rocket, slice of life love story Little Things, emotional drama Tabbar , psychological thriller You and patriotic Saga Sardar Udham.
While Sanak Hope Under Seige will stream on Disney Hotstar from October 15, Rashmi Rocket streams on Zee5 from October 15. Slice of life love story Little Things streams on Netflix from October 15 while emotional drama Tabbar streams on Sony Liv from tomorrow..
Psychological thriller You streams on Netflix from October 15. Also scheduled for streaming on Amazon Prime from October 16 is the patriotic Saga Sardar Udham, which tells the story of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh , who carried out assassination of Michael O Dwyer ,the person responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Rashmi Rocket on Zee5
After impressing audiences with her performance in the engrossing mystery Haseen Dilruba, Tapsee Pannu will now entertain cinelovers with Rashmi Rocket, engrossing story of a small town girl's rise to become a medal winning athlete for the country, that streams on Zee5 from October 15.

At the heart of Rashmi Rocket, inspirational story about a new ordinary girl's rise to become a gifted athlete , is the phenomenon of gender testing in Indian sports.
Trailer of Rashmi Rocket, unveiled earlier this month, provided viewers a glimpse into a gritty tale about gender testing in sports.
The trailer takes us through the life of small town girl Rashmi who dreams of becoming an international athlete. It shows Rashmi's journey from her small town to roots to winning medals for the country.
However, her life takes a grim turn after a gender verification test carried out by the sports authorities leads to her being banned from the sport, leaving her life shattered.
Accused of fraud and being disparaged by the sports association and her fans, Rashmi decides to fight back and files a human rights violation case against the sports association , challenging the laws of the nation in her fight for justice.

Set in Kutch in Gujarat, Rashmi Rocket, Directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by RSVP films of Ronnie Screwvala and Mango People India, tracks Rashmi's journey from a tiny village to athletic contests.
It features Tapsee Pannu as the athlete Rashmi. Priyanshu Painyuli, famous for his role in Mirzapur season 2, will play Rashmi's husband while Supriya Pathak, a veteran actor, will be seen as Rashmi's mother.
Supriya Pilgaonkar and Abhishek Banerjee feature in pivotal roles in the film.
The story and dialogues of the film have been written by Nanda Periyasamy Kanika Dhillon respectively.
Shooting for the film was held last year at various locations in Rajasthan.
Tapsee has said that she had to do rigorous training to assay her role in Rashmi Rocket. She had to hit the gym really hard.
In a social media post last year, Tapsee thanked her fitness expert Sujeet Kargutkar, sports physio Prachi Shah Arora, nutritionist Munmun Ganeriwal
and athletic coach Melwyn Crasto for being instrumental for her transformation to an athlete on reel.
Tapsee Pannu said that Rashmi Rocket is an ode to athletes who have given their sweat and blood to the nation and still have to put up with nasty remarks asking them to change their gender.

Tapsee was last seen in Vinil Mathew's Haseen Dilruba, a mystery thriller featuring her alongside Vikrant Massey.
She will be soon seen in Shabaash Mithu, based on the life of Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj.

Sanak Hope Under Seige on Disney Hotstar
After impressing audiences with his breathtaking action stunts in films in the Commondo franchise, Vidyut Jammwal will be seen in another Macho Avatar in the hostage drama Sanak Hope Under Seige, which streams on Disney Hotstar from October 15.
Directed by Kanishk Varma and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Sanak stars Vidyut Jammwal, Bengali superstar Rukmini Maitra, Neha Dhupia and Chandan Roy Sanyal among others.
The film also marks the big Bollywood debut of Bengali actress Rukmini Maitra and her chemistry with Vidyut seems to be another highlight in the film.
The makers of the film last week unveiled an action packed trailer which promises an adrenaline pumping entertainer with mind blowing action stunts.

It is a bittersweet feeling, the finale – it was a rollercoaster of emotions shooting it. Dhruv-Kavya are growing up, their love is more mature and they are making way for more adventures, more ups and downs,'they said.

The first season of Little Things was premiered through the official YouTube channel of Dice Media, from 25 October 2016, to 22 November.
Netflix later purchased the franchise and its second season, was premiered on the streaming platform on October 5, 2018. A third season was released on9 November 9, 2019.
The story revolves around Kavya Kulkarni (Mithila Palkar) and Dhruv Vats (Sehgal), a couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai.
The series progresses with everyday life explored through conversation between the couple.

Tabbar on Sony Liv
October 15 will also witness the release of emotional family drama Tabbar on Sony Liv.
Directed by Ajitpal Singh, Tabbar is a story about the strong bond shared by members of a middle class family.
Featuring actors Pawan Malhotra, Supriya Pathak, Gagan Arora, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Kanwaljeet Singh in key roles, Tabbar takes viewers through the lives of an ordinary middle-class family that stood together and blurred all the lines to protect and support each other after a terrifying incident turned their world upside down.
Set in Jalandhar in Punjab, Tabbar is the story of how life if the Singh family takes a 360 degree turn after an unfortunate incident .
Written by Harman Wadala and Sandeep Jain, the series is produced by Ajay G. Rai of JAR Pictures.
Ahead of the release of the film, Actor Pawan Malhotra said that the film tells you about the importance of a family in a person's life.
Pawan Malhotra, who was last seen in engrossing drama Grahan, says that Tabbar will see him in a kind of role he has never done earlier.

With uncertainty continuing on the reopening of theatres in Maharashtra amid the threat of the Delta variant of covid and looming threat of third wave , the makers Sardar Udham have decided to release the film on OTT.
