Dhadkan Zindagii Kii has been the best television debut for me; Almaa Hussain

She has been grabbing eyeballs as the fiesty and smart  Dr Sia Advani in the medical drama Dhadkan Zindagii Kii on Sony entertainment television.

In a drama where the primary focus is on Additi Gupta as Dr Deepika Sinha and Rohit Purohit as Dr Vikrant Saxena,  actor Almaa Hussain has attracted attention of viewers with her portrayal of the bubbly Dr Sia Advani who is extremely focussed towards her career as a doctor and is seen to take the various crisis situations occurring in the hospital in her stride.

For the actress, who is making her debut with Dhadkan Zindagii Kii , bagging the role of Almaa Hussain has been nothing less than a dream come true.

''Getting an opportunity to do a show like Dhadkan Zindagii Kii and playing a doctor in my very first show is a dream come true for me.  I could not have asked for a better debut, 'she said amid accolades for her portrayal of Dr Sia Advani.

Almaa Hussain says that she is blessed to be working with some of the most talented actors like Rohit Purohit and Additi Gupta

'Working with such a talented group of actors has been a learning experience for me, 'she said.

Amid a number of medical dramas on the small screen in the past, Dhadkan Zindagii Kii stands out with its true to life portrayal of the working of the medical profession.

While at the basic level  story of  Dhadkan Zindagii Kii is about discrimination against women, it has got plaudits for its authentic portrayal of the working in the medical profession.

Alma Hussain said that Dhadkan Zindagii Kii is one of the most authentic shows about the medical profession on television till date.

'Dhadkan Zindagii Kii is one of the most authentic shows about the medical profession. The show is a true portrayal of the working of the medical profession whether it be in the way is which medical equipment is put to use and the the interactions between the doctors and the patients.  Everything is shown exactly way it happens in real life, 'Alma Hussain said.

Alma Hussain said that as an actor, she had to put in a lot of effort to being out an authentic portrayal of working in a hospital.

'A lot of effort went into bringing out an authentic portrayal of the working in a hospitals. Infact, we had real doctors on the sets to help us develop an understanding of the various  medical procedures, 'she said.

Talking about her character of Dr Sia Advani,  Alma said that as an actor,  she could relate to her in many ways.

'There are a lot of similarities between Sia and Alma. Sia is focussed, hardworking and sincere. As a person,  I am quite hardworking focussed about my goals, which is similar to the way Sia is,'she said.

Alma feels that Dhadkan Zindagii Kii will prove to be a trendsetter on television for its realistic depiction of the medical profession

'Today we are witnessing an increasing number of shows on television and the digital screen with a realistic depiction of real life.  In this context,  I am sure shows like Dhadkan  Zindagii Kii will  prove to be trendsetters on television,'she said.


Being aired at 10 pm from Monday to Friday every week on Sony entertainment television,  Dhadkan; Zindaggi Kii  traces the journey of Deepika,  a woman who challenges patriarchy in her family,  society and at her workplace to pursue a career in a  male-dominated profession.

Dhadkan; Zindaggi Kii stars television actress Additi Gupta in the role of Deepika. 

Dhadkan; Zindaggi Kii also features Rohit Purohit as the male lead and Thomas Xavier, Alma Hussain, Nishanth Singh and Raghav Dhir in key roles.
