Zindagi’s next original Mrs & Mr Shameem to premiere on Zee5 on March 11

After the success of Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam, Zindagi is ready to present its next original Mrs and Mr Shameem, a new series that paints a real picture of love for the viewers, one that originates from a sense of belonging and friendship.

Scheduled to premiere on Zee5 on March 11,  Mrs and Mr Shameem features
prominent actors Saba Qamar (who played the lead in Bollywood movie Hindi Medium, alongside late actor Irrfan) and Nauman Ijaz as Mrs. and Mr. Shameem.

Zindagi’s next original Mrs and Mr Shameem premieres on Zee 5 on March 11

The series is directed by noted director Kashif Nisar who has helmed several artistic drama series including shows Dumpukht - Aatish E Ishq, and O Rangreza.

Mrs and Mr Shameem has been written by Sajjad Gul (Saji), a contemporary playwright with a focus on social issues who is also the writer of the show – O Rangreza.

Speaking about the new series,  Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India said, “Continuing our successful collaboration with Zindagi to present real and relevant stories but with a twist, we are happy to announce our next Original series, Mrs. & Mr. Shameem. It’s an unconventional love story explored through a new lens as it shatters age old gender roles and boundaries defined by the society. It also has a stellar team behind it, and we are excited to bring this forth to our viewers across 190+ countries”.

Chief Creative Officer, Special Projects, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, Shailja Kejriwal said that Mrs and Mr Shameem aims to redefine the meaning of true love.

“Mrs. & Mr. Shameem aims at redefining the meaning of true love and at the same time challenges society’s preconceived gender biases. It is an uncommon bond of two people based on nothing superficial,'she said.

Shedding light on the series, Director Kashif Nisar said, “It is the story of Shameem who embodies effeminate traits while Umaina is outspoken and bold in her ways. Despite their significant personality differences, there develops a beautiful bond between them of love, respect and companionship.”

Sharing his thoughts on the show writer Sajjad Gul (Saji) said, "It is a contemporary story which traces the journey of Umaina and Shameem aka Mrs. & Mr. Shameem who discover love in its unusual ways. The show challenges the gender barriers that exist in society. We hope that the audience connects with the story as it presents a fresh perspective on love."

A Zindagi original, Mrs. & Mr. Shameem is a distinctive love story of a pure bond graduating from friendship to growing old together and everything in between.

The launch of Mrs and Mr Shameem comes after ghe success of the Zindagi original Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam,  which premiered on Zee5 last year.
