Bhool Bhulaiya2 earns Rs 90.5 cr in opening week in India

Riding on the chill factor , the brand value of the original film and notable performances by Tabu and Kartik Aryan, the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiya2 continued to  rock the box office in India,  earning Rs 90.5 cr in its opening week across India.

The film, which took a rocking start at the box office with collection of Rs 55 cr in its opening weekend,  earned Rs 7 cr on Thursday,  taking its collections in the opening week to Rs 90.5 cr.

A sequel to the 2007 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiya,  which starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles,  Bhool Bhulaiya2,  directed bg Anees Bazmee,  stars Kartik Aryan, Kaira Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles.

Bhool Bhulaiya2, which took a rocking start with collections of Rs 55 cr in its opening weekend,  remained steady during the week days.


The film has done excellent business in South and East India, Delhi and NCR and Central India

The rocking start taken by Bhool Bhulaiya2 ends the poor run by Bollywood films at the box office over the last few months.

Last few months have witnessed films like Jersey, Attack, Runway 34 and Heropanti2 take a below average opening at box office even as dubbed Hindi versions of multilingual action thrillers RRR and KGF2 have been drawing huge crowds at the theatres.

In this sense , the opening taken by Bhool Bhulaiya2 is the highest taken by a Hindi film in 2022.

With audiences continuing to throng the theatres, Bhool Bhulaiya2 is expected to reach the milestone of Rs 150 cr by the end of its second week

The film has evoked lot of curiosity among cinegoers with its promos and trailer generating tremendous buzz among cinegoers.

The music of the film has been composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer and Mandy Gill.
