Runway 34 witnesses jump in its collections on Sat & Sun,earns Rs 13 cr in its opening weekend

After a slow start at the box office,  Runway 34 witnessed a sharp jump in its collections on Saturday and Sunday.

The tremendous buzz around the film and noteworthy performances by Ajay Devgn and megastar Amitabh Bachchan resulted in a jump in its collections on Saturday and Sunday to Rs 4.5 cr and Rs 5.5 cr respectively, fromRs 3 cr on Friday. 

The film has earned Rs 13 cr in its opening weekend.

Given the world of mouth publicity for the film,  Runway 34 is expected to witness a further jump in its earnings on Monday and on the Eid holiday on Tuesday.

Trade experts attribute the below expectations collections of the film to the strong opposition from the multilingual action thriller KGF2,  which is still drawing crowds to the theatres in its third week.

Inspired by true incidents, “Runway 34” revolves around Captain Vikrant Khanna played by Ajay Devgn, a flying prodigy, whose flight takes a mysterious course after take-off from an international destination.

Directed and produced by Ajay Devgn, Runway 34  features  Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh.

The makers of the recently released motion posters of the film featuring Ajay Devggn and Amitabh Bachchan in stylish avatars.

Ajay Devgn plays a pilot in the film while Amitabh Bachchan plays an investigative officer.

Earlier titled Mayday,  Runway 34 is an edge of the seat drama.

The trailer and promos of the film have created tremendous buzz among cinegoers.
