After successful action thrillers RRR, KGF2 Runway 34 and Heropanti2 and sports biopic Jersey in April , political and action thrillers , comedies, historical and sports dramas will entertain viewers in May and June.
While the month of May will witness the release of comedies Jayeshbhai Jordar, Aankh Micholi and Bhool Bhulaiya2, spy thriller Dhaakad and political thriller Anek, June will witness the release of historical Prithviraj, action thrillers Mission Majnu and Khuda Haafiz2, sports drama Maidaan, romantic thriller No Means No , comedy Jug Jugg Jeeyo and social drama Janhit Mein Jaari.
Jayeshbhai Jordar
May 13 will witness the release of the much awaited comedy film Jayeshbhai Jordar.

Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar and produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films, Jayeshbhai Jordar is the story of traditional Gujarati sarpanch Jayeshbhai Patel who believes in equal rights between men and women in society.
Jayeshbhai Jordar stars Ranveer Singh in the titular role of Jayeshbhai Patel while featuring Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles.
Jayeshbhai Jordar was postponed several times due to Covid-19 pandemic. It was initially scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, 2020 and then on August 27 last year and February 25 this year but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aankh Micholi
May 13 will also witness the release of comedy film Aankh Micholi, which is about a family of misfits which is trying to hide some secrets from an NRI suitor and his family as they want their daughter to get married to the NRI boy.

Directed by Umesh Shukla, who had earlier directed films like OMG, 102 not out and Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge, Aankh Micholi stars Paresh Rawal, Abhimanyu Dassani, Mrunal Thakur, Divya Dutta and Sharman Joshi in key roles.
It has been produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Merry Go Round Studios.
The film has witnessed several postponements due to Covid.
Bhool Bhulaiya2
Another much awaited film in May is Bhool Bhulaiya2, a sequel to the successful 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiya that featured Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiny Ahuja in lead roles.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiya2 , which stars Kartik Aryan, Kaira Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles, is scheduled for release on May 20.

The film was initially scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2020 but was postponed due to Covid.
The film has evoked lot of curiosity among cinegoers with its promos and trailer generating tremendous buzz among cinegoers.
The music of the film has been composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer and Mandy Gill.
Bhool Bhulaiya2 was initially set for a July 2020 release but was pushed to November 19 due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Later , the film was postponed to March 25 due to the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the Omicron variant.
Bhool Bhulaiya2 is a sequel to filmmaker Priyadarshan's 2007 film of the same name that featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles.

Dhaakad
May 20 will also witness the release of the much awaited spy thriller Dhaakad ,
starring Kangana in the lead role of an international female spy.
Directed by Razneesh Ghai, Dhaakad is the story of a fierce and tough international spy who embarks on an action-filled adventure with guns blazing.
It is a journey of brave female Spy Agni who fights against all the odds and evils to save humanity.

Agni, a highly trained and deadly field agent, is entrusted with a mission to gather Intel and eliminate Rudraveer, an international human and arms trafficker who has been off the radar for ten years.
Dhaakad will feature Arjun Rampal as Rudrqveer, the evil nemesis of Agni.
Produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai under banners of Soham Rockstar Entertainment, Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum films, Dhaakad also stars Divya Dutta and Sharib Hashmi in key roles.
Dhaakad will feature Kangana in a never-before seen avataar of a female spy.
Kangana went through 3 months of extensive training for the role of spy officer Agent Agni.

Anek
Also releasing in the month of May is the political thriller Anek, the story of an undercover cop posted in the North East who is on a journey to find peace.
Written and directed by Anubhav Sinha who also co-produced it with T-Series, Anek, set in North East India, portrays the journey of an undercover cop on a mission to find peace.

Anek stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead alongside J.D. Chakravarthy, Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra.
The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release on 17 September 2021, but was postponed owing to COVID-19 pandemic.
Anek deals with violence and injustice that people of North East India have to suffer .
Talking about the film, Ayushmann said, “Anek celebrates the spirit of truly being an Indian. Anubhav sir is pushing the envelope and setting a benchmark with his passionate storytelling with this film. My character Joshua compelled me to do things I had never done before, both physically and mentally. With the right guidance and training, I gave this role my best shot to bring life to everything Anubhav envisioned for the film.”
Speaking about the film, Anubhav Sinha said, “Anek has been my most challenging film so far. It’s based on a topic that’s probably been less spoken of in the county. It re-emphasises the fact that inspite of being different in our cultures, traditions, languages, India can rise above and win as a country. Despite all the challenges that came our way, whether it was shooting in difficult terrain or filming during the pandemic, we powered through. I feel a great sense of pride and triumph that we’ve accomplished everything we set out to with this film.”

Manushi Chhillar makes her Bollywood ebut with the film.
Prithviraj also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari in pivotal roles.
Prithviraj was earlier scheduled for release in cinemas November 13, 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Later, the film was scheduled for release on January 21, 2022 but had to be postponed due to the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Maidaan
June 3 will also witness the release of the sports drama Maidaan, based on the life of story of one of the finest football coaches Sted Abdul Rahim.
Set during the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962, Maidaan stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.

June will also witness the release of spy thriller Mission Majnu , which seeks to tell the story of India’s biggest covert operation.
Directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta, Mission Majnu , starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandan are in lead roles, releases in theatres on Jun 10.

After the success of the 2020 film Khuda Haafiz, streamed on Disney Hotstar, the makers of the film Panorama Studios will release the second chapter of the film in theatres on June 17.
Produced by Kumar Mangat Paathak, Abhishek Pathak, Surya Bimal Parekh and Ram Mirchandani and written and directed by Faruk Kabir , Khuda haafiz Chapter 2 Agni Pareeksha is a sequel to the 2020 film Khuda Haafiz, which was released directed on Disney Hotstar due to Covid.

June 17 will also witness the release of No Means No, an indo Polish romantic thriller film shot simultaneously in three languages- English, Hindi and Polish.

No Means No follows an Indian ski champion (Dhruv Verma), who participates in a ski championship in Poland. There he falls in love with a Polish girl.
No Means No was Initially scheduled to be released on March 22 2021, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Later it was scheduled for release on 5 November 2021 but release was again pushed back to June 17, 2022.
The first Indo Polish film production, No Means No has been majorly shot in Poland with just 20 per cent of the film shot in India. The film has been shot in exotic locations in Poland.
No Means No is the third Bollywood film , after Salman Khan starrer Kick and Aamir Khan starrer Fanaa, shot in Poland.
Salman khan's Kick was shot in Warsaw while Aamir kha's Fanaa was shot in Zakopane.
No Means No seeks to boost tourism and reinforce cultural connection between India and Poland.
The film also stars a host of Polish actors including Anna Ador, Jersey Handzlik, and Anna Guzik, Natalia Bak, Slywia Czech and Pawel Czech amongst others.
Dhruv Verma spent months in Poland mastering Krav Maga (Israeli Fighting style developed for the army) and Jyrki SarioDefendo (Defensive Fighting Style developed for the European police) from his guru Bartek Dobrowolski along with a specially tailored course in gun shooting, besides the training he already received from the action legend, Sanjay Dutt in disarming and shooting techniques.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo
June will witness the release of the romantic comedy Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which marks Neetu Kapoor's return to films after a long gap.
Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, Jug Jugg Jeeyo stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles alongside Prajakta Koli and Manish Paul.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo is scheduled for release in cinemas June 24.
