Nikamma releases in cinemas on June 17, Shilpa Shetty makes comeback to the big screen after a long gap

After a long sabbatical,  Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty will return to the arclights with the action comedy Nkkamma, which will release in cinemas on June 17.

As Nikamma gets ready for release in cinemas on June 17, Shilpa Shetty is excited to be in front of the camera again with Nikamma.

Talking to reporters during a visit to Delhi to promote the film , Shilpa Shetty said, 'I am really excited for the release of Nikamma. As an actress, it is great to be back in the theatres after a hiatus. Nikamma is the first film I said yes to after my sabbatical. it is  an exciting time for all of us as very less movies had made to big screens. I hope everyone likes our work in Nikamma.,'Shilpa Shetty said.

Shilpa Shetty says that the role of Avni in Nikamma has been among her most challenging roles till date.

' I was convinced by Sabbir’s grasp on the craft and the unusual and exciting part he had to offer. Avni has been one of my most challenging roles yet, but also a part I enjoyed playing to the hilt,'she said.

Nikamma,  directed by Sabbir Khan, will introduce the new pair of Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia.

Director of the film Sabbir Khan,  who had earlier directed Heropanti,  says that the fresh pairing of Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia will surprise everyone.

'The fresh new pairing of Abhimanyu and Shirley will surprise everyone, I hope that the audiences will show the same love for Abhi and Shirley as they had done for Tiger and Kriti in their debut Heropanti,'he said.

An action comedy,  Nikamma is a remake of the 2017 Telugu film Middle Class Abbayi.

Nikamma marks Abhimanyu Dassani's debut on the big screen after impressing audiences in the Netflix film Meenakshi Sundareshwar.

Nikamma also marks Bollywood debut of YouTube sensation Shirley Setia.

Shirley Setia, who rose to fame with her renditions of famous Bollywood songs, is excited about her debut with Nikamma.

"I have been waiting for this day to arrive and I am elated and thankful for our makers to make this happen and at the right time,'she said.
