Avatar The way of Water earns Rs 127 cr in its opening weekend

After a huge opening at the box office , the Sci fi film Avatar The Way of Water continued its blockbuster run in India,  earning Rs 127 cr in its opening weekend.

After collecting Rs 40 cr on its opening day,  Avatar The Way of Water, a sequel to the 2009 Hollywood hit Avatar, maintained its meteoric run at the box office,  earning Rs 40 cr and 47  cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively,  taking its collections in its opening weekend to Rs 127 cr.

Released on December 16 in IMAX and 3D formats, Avatar The Way of Water,  a sequel to the 2009 blockbuster Avatar,  drew huge crowds at the theatres across the country?

The film did excellent business in South India, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Given the huge  opening taken by Avatar The Way of Water,  it is expected to reach the milestone of Rs 200 cr in its opening week.

Directed by James Cameron, Avatar The way of Water is a sequel to the 2009 Hollywood film Avatar.

The film has created tremendous buzz among cinelovers due to its spectacular visual and VFX effects.

The rocking start taken by Avatar The Way of Water,  has brought cheer to the film trade which has witnessed recent films Bhediya, An Action Hero, Salaam Venky and Maarrich failing to draw crowds to the theatres. 

Infact,  barring The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiya2,  Brahmastra Part one and Drishyam2,  most Hindi films released post the pandemic have failed to enthuse audiences.
