Bad Boy to clash with period drama Ponniyin Selvan 2

Even as cinelovers eagerly await the release of the second edition of the period action drama Ponniyin Selvan 2 on April 28, setting up a clash with the magnum opus will be Bad Boy, the debut film of Mithun Chakraborty's son Nimashi Chakraborty.

Nimashi Chakraborty's new film Bad Boy, a light comedy about a love affair between a good for nothing boy and a studious girl from a conservative family,  is set for release on April 28, setting up a clash with Ponniyin Selvan 2.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Bad Boy marks the Bollywood  debut of Namashi Chakraborty.

The film stars Amrin Qureshi as the female lead.  It also stars Darshan Jariwala,  John Lever, Saswata Chatterjee and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles.

Bad Boy, produced by Sajid Qureshi and Anjum Qureshi, is the story of a good for nothing boy Raghu falling in love with a studious girl Rituparna from a conservative family. What ensues is a lot of funny conflicts and comical situations.

The film also marks the bollywood debut of Amrin Qureshi ,  who is the daughter of Sajid Qureshi.

Speaking to reporters during a  promotional visit to Delhi, Namashi Chakraborty said he was excited about the film.

He said that the trailer of the film has whetted the curiosity of  cinelovers.

Nimashi Chakraborty said that he is privileged to work under the direction of a veteran like Rajkumar Santoshi who has helmed successful films like Andaz Apna Apna and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani .

He said that working with the filmmaker was a learning experience.

Speaking to reporters,  the film's lead actress Amrin Qureshi said she is confident about a positive response to the film given its stellar starcast and appealing storyline.

Talking about her role,  she said she plays Rituparna, an ordinary girl from a middle-class family who is an obedient daughter of her parents.

However,  a meeting with this boy lead to attraction. What follows also is a desire to open up her wings and explore the world.

Amrin said that working with several veterans in the was a privilege.

The makers of the film have carried out extensive promotions of the film  ahead of its release.

A pre release event of the film saw a  live performance  by Himesh Reshammiya and Mithun Chakraborty..

The trailer of the film has created tremendous buzz among cinelovers ahead of its release.
