Gauri Pradhan promotes her debut Bollywood film 'A Winter Tale at SHIMLA' in Delhi

As she gets ready to make her entry in Bollywood, after an eventful stint on television,  with her debut venture 'A Winter Tale at SHIMLA', Gauri Pradhan is full of excitement and anticipation on entering anew world.

Gauri Pradhan, who has established a niche for herself on television with shows like Kutumb, Kyunki SaaS Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi , Meri Ashiqui Tumse HI and Tu Ashiqui, is all set to make her  Bollywood  debut with the romantic drama A Winter Tale at SHIMLA, which releases in cinemas on May 12.

For the veteran television actress, A Winter Tale at SHIMLA is a perfect  Bollywood debut.

Speaking during a visit to Delhi to promote her film, Gauri Pradhan said that 'A Winter Tale at SHIMLA' is not a quintessential love story.

'A Winter Tale at SHIMLA is not a usual love story, 'Gauri Pradhan said in a chat with reporters.

Directed by Yogesh Verma, a widely admired thespian from the Theatre world,  A Winter Tale at SHIMLA tells the story of a person meeting his former love after two decades. Love rekindles between the two with dangerous consequences as his lover's husband is a brutal police officer with an unenviable reputation.

Gauri Pradhan said that she is happy to be making a debut in Bollywood at a time when an increasing number of women  oriented films are being made.

'I am happy that strong and meaningful roles are beint written for female actors now. It’s a great time for actresses,'she said.

On the  occasion,  Director and Producer Yogesh Verma launched the Poster and Trailer of his directorial debut “A Winter Tale at SHIMLA” , which stars an interesting ensemble cast of actors - Gauri Pradhan , Indraneil Sengupta, Deepraj Rana, Rituraj Singh, Niharica Chouksey, Angad Ohri, Eshita Shah, Karamveer Choudhary, Manu Malik, Ram Awana, Dr. SK Tyagi, Dhruv Chugh, Deepak Adhar.

The film also marks the debut of actress Nikitha Chopra

Shot in Shimla and neighbouring areas of Himachal Pradesh,  A Winter Tale at SHIMLA is a tale of classic love.

Those associated with the film say that through the film, director Yogesh Verma  brings back the old world charm of romance with modern sensibilities.

'A Winter Tale at SHIMLA’ is borne out of Yogesh  Verma's interesting life journey.

His narration combines both the vintage and the modern metaphor as he spins a tale of classic love.

Verma said that Gauri Pradhan perfectly fits the character  of the  protagonist. 
  
'Gauri is extremely talented. Even while writing the script I could only think of Gauri to play the protagonist,'he said.

He said that the film features a talented  group of actors.

”I know I may not have the biggest stars in my film but I know they are the most talented ones. All of them have had a beautiful run the entertainment industry,'he said.

The movie wonderfully captures the beauty and charm of Shimla and the surrounding area.

'It is an honest attempt to bring back the old classic romance, which has somewhere perished in the times of modern love’,he said.

Yogesh Verma calls the film “a project  driven by personal passion, sensibly crafted for engaging a wide audience of young and old, and presented with the best cinematic values and entertaining elements”

The film has been produced by  Agastaya Cine Dreams LLP,.

The story, Screenplay and Dialogues have  been  written by Yogesh Verma,while Devanand Nair is the Executive Producer.

A known face in the modeling and television world,  Gauri Pradhan, who  made her acting debut with the television show Noorjahan on Doordarshan in 1999, is known for her roles in shows like! Kutumb, Kyunki SaaS Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Meri Ashiqui Tumse HI and Tu Ashiqui.
