RRR to release in cinemas on January 7, sets up a clash with Gangubhai Kathiawad

Amid the continuing announcement of release dates of big starrers in cinema halls, after the decision of the Maharashtra government to reopen theatres in the state from October 22, makers of the Telugu action drama RRR,  that features Ram Charan,  N T Rama Rao,  Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles,  said that the film will release in cinemas on January 7 next year.

The Alia Bhatt Ajay Devgn starrer is set to clash at the box office with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubhai Kathiawad,  which also features Alia Bhatt in the lead.

A period action drama , RRR,  directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by D V V. Danayya of DVV Entertainments, is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (N T Rama Rao) who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

It is the fictional story of the two revolutionaries about their journey away from home before they started fighting for the freedom of the country from the British.

RRR stars N T Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris in lead roles while Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody play supporting roles.

The film will release in Telugu along with the dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and other Indian and foreign languages.

RRR was initially scheduled for release on July 30 last year but its release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film is one of the highly awaited films this year.
