Directed by Ashwini Iyer Tewari and Nitesh Tiwari, Break Point takes viewers through the spectacular rise of the iconic doubles pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi in the 80s and their bitter split .
Break Point, that chronicles the partnership of Indian tennis doubles players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati, will show audiences how their charisma electrified the tennis court, but their chemistry off court kept them from becoming the greatest doubles champions in Tennis.
The seven episode docu drama, that seeks to unravel the unanswered questions on the story of Lee-Hesh from bromance to break up, will take viewers through the story of friendship, brotherhood, partnership, belief, hard-work and ambition of two of the greatest tennis champions.
The trailer of the series, unveiled by Zee5 last month provided viewers a glimpse into story of break up between Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi.
It promises a tale of two friends who had prepared for success but not for the life that followed.
Speaking about the series, Leander Paes has said that the docu drama series is a first hand account of their relationship off the court.
“I enjoyed this walk down memory lane shooting for Break Point. While Mahesh and my on-court partnership was widely covered, and our off-court chemistry was largely speculated. This is the first time that our fans will get to see and hear it all, first-hand,'he said.
Mahesh Bhupathi said that the series will provide viewers a peek into their journey.
“It is no secret that I am reserved when it comes to communicating, so this is a big step for me to relive the journey and put it all out there in the most candid and honest manner. But, at the same time, I am happy that our fans will get to see our journey which was a mix of sweat, perseverance, brotherhood and at times blood and tears as well,'he said.
