The Kashmir Files crosses Rs 250 cr in India in 26 days

Continuing with its good show at the box office in India, The Kashmir Files has crossed another milestone with the earnings of the film crossing Rs 250 cr in 26 days of its run.
The Kashmir Files, which had earned Rs 7 cr in its fourth weekend, collected another Rs 5 cr on Monday and Tuesday, taking its collections in 26 days to Rs 250 cr.

The film, which has had a meteoric run at the box office since its release on March 11 , had earned Rs 7 cr in its fourth weekend, taking its total earnings at the end of its fourth weekend to Rs 245 cr.
The Kashmir Files, which has witnessed a continuous growth in its collections since its release on March 11, is the highest earner in India post the Covid pandemic, surpassing the earnings of the Akshay Kumar Katrina kaif starrer Sooryavanshi. Sooryavanshi has earned Rs 196 cr in India.
The film has done excellent business in Delhi , Uttar Pradesh and Punjab with a good showing in Gujarat and Mumbai.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files , based on exodus of Kashmiri pandits during the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir , is a part of trilogy of films on various burning political events in the country.
Produced by Zee Studios and written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in key roles.
The Kashmir Files is the second in the trilogy of films , beginning with The Tashkent Files, which was based in the mysterious death of former prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The third in the trilogy is The Delhi Files, based in the anti Sikh riots of 1984.
It opened to mixed reviews in India. Critics have praised the performance of Anupam kher in the film.
The film was initially set to release theatrically worldwide on January 26 2022, coinciding with Republic Day but was postponed due to the third wave of COVID-19 caused by the Omicron variant spread.
It has been declared tax-free in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
