Attack takes a poor opening at box office,  earns Rs 3 cr on opening day

Notwithstanding the tremendous buzz around it ,the John Abraham Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Attack had a poor opinion at the box office in India,  earning just Rs 3 cr on its opening day on Friday.

Despite the presence of John Abraham, the amazing VFX and special effects and  breathtaking action stunts,  the film has failed to draw audiences to the theatres. 

The film has recorded a poor response in  most of the circuits,  barring Mumbai.

The poor box office response to the film comes despite its promos and  trailer evoking tremendous buzz among cinegoers.

Trade experts attribute the poor opening taken by Attack to its video game look.

This, coupled with the strong opposition posed by the action thriller RRR, resulted in Attack witnessing poor footfalls at the theatres on its opening day.

With RRR continuing to draw crowds to the theatres and coming weeks witnessing the release of films like Jersey and KGF2,  the situation looks bleak for John Abraham starrer at the box office.


The story of an army veteran(John Abraham)  becoming part of a governmental experiment to become a cybertronic humanoid super-soldier, Attack features Bollywood hunk John Abraham in the role of India’s first super soldier

Directed by Lakshya Raj Anand and based on a story by John Abraham, Attack also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh.

While John Abraham stars as Arjun Shergill,  India’s first super soldier,  Jacqueline Fernandez stars as his love interest.  Rahul Preet Singh stars as a scientist Dr Jiya.  The film also features Prakash Raj , Ratna Pathak Shah and Kiran Kumar in pivotal roles.
