RRR continues its strong run in second week,  approaches the Rs 150 cr mark

Continuing its extraordinary run at the box office in its second week,  RRR (Hindi) today approached the Rs 150 cr mark in India and is well on course to be a Superhit.

RRR (Hindi) earned Rs 13 cr on its second Friday,  far more than the new release of the week Attack,  taking its earnings in its first eight days to Rs 143 cr. Considering its continued craze among cinegoers,  the film is likely to cross the milestone of Rs 150 crore on Saturday.

In terms of its earnings on its second Friday,  RRR (Hindi) is on ghe fifth position,  after The Kashmir Files,  Baahubali 2, Dangal and PK.

RRR (Hindi) has earned higher than Sooryavanshi in most parts of North India.

The film, which earned Rs 75 cr in its opening weekend, breached the milestone of Rs 100 cr in just five days.

With crowds still thronging to the theatres,  RRR (Hindi) is set to cross the Rs 200 cr mark at the box office in India.

Directed by SS Rajamouli (of Baahubali fame), RRR is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Junior NTR ), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

Made in Telugu, Hindi and other South Indian languages, RRR   produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainments., stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris.

The film,  which was postponed several times due to production delays and due to the Covid-19 pandemic,  has created tremendous buzz due to it being helmed by S S Rajamouli, the presence of Junior NTR,  Ram Charan and Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn and due to its grand production values.

RRR opened to positive reviews .

The collections of all versions of the film on its opening week are over Rs 700 cr worldwide,  breaking the record for highest opening day collection  by an Indian film.
