As Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor returns to the Silver screen with Jersey after a long gap since Kabir Singh, he is excited about sharing screen space with his father and veteran actor Pankaj Kapur.
In a promotional visit to Delhi ahead of the release of Jersey on April 14,Shahid said that sharing screen space with his father Pankaj Kapur was a learning experience.

'Working with my father Pankaj Kapur (who plays a coach to Shahid in the film) was a learning experience. I got to learn a lot while working with him in jersey.
. I actually asked people on the sets to speak to him in Punjabi so that I could hear him speaking the language and could imbibe it. Speaking a language is the only way to imbibe it, 'Shahid told reporters .
Shahid, who returns to the Silver screen after a long gap since Kabir Singh, has said that working with his dad s a nerve wracking experience.
'It's very nerve wracking working with him. But it is also a pleasure working with him. When you are an actor at heart it is amazing standing in the same frame with a great actor and seeing what he is doing with his craft and trying to react to it honestly and learning from him.
I want to work with people like him like Irrfan sir (Irfan khan) Tabu mam.(Tabu) . These are phenomenal actors. Being in the frame with them is like learning how to act. It is a privilege for me to share screen space with actors of my dad's Calibre,'Shahid Kapoor said in an earlier interaction.
Shahid Kapoor said that it is always a privilege for him to share screen space with actors of his dad's calibre.
'It's very scary to work with your dad especially when he is an actor known for his outstanding body of work,'Shahid Kapoor said at the trailer launch of the film last year.
An accomplished actor, Pankaj Kapur, who rose to fame with the television series Karamchand in the 80s, has earned acclaim for his performances in several films over the years, with three national film awards in Raakh, Ek Doctor Ki Maut and Maqbool.
Shahid Kapoor said that a portion of Jersey was shot in Punjab in order to give it a realistic touch.
'To give the film a real touch , we shot a portion of the film in Punjab because when you shoot in that atmosphere, it becomes easy to act and learn,'Shahid Kapoor said.
Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnannuri, Jersey is the story of Arjun Raichand, a thirty six year old cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago and is now aiming to play for Indian team.
A remake of Gowtam Tinnannuri's 2019 Telugu film of the same title, Jersey stars Shahid Kapoor as Arjun Raichand while Mrinal Thakur features as his wife .
The film, which has been produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju and Suryadevara, also features Shahid Kapoor's father Pankaj Kapur in a key role.
Shahid Kapoor has said that the role in Jersey is something that is close to his heart.
The actor has said that the shooting for the film was held amid the raging Covid pandemic.
The film has been postponed several times due to the covid Pandemic.
The film was earlier scheduled to release in August last year but it' was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, it was scheduled for release in December last year but had to be deterred due to the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Jersey marks Shahid Kapoor's return to the big screen after a long gap. He was last seen in the film Kabir Singh, released in 2019.
