Zee Classic to celebrate Guru Dutt with its special property Bemisaal Guru Dutt

“Zindagi ki asli khushi dusro ko khush rakh ke haasil ki jaati hai” this simple philosophy of life wrapped in the classic world of Guru Dutt defined the course of Indian cinema in the 50’s, 60’s and so on.

As we celebrate 97 years of the legendary filmmaker this year, Zee Classic is all set to take viewers through the cinematic world of Guru Dutt with some handpicked hits every Saturday!



Zee Classic to celebrate Guru Dutt with its special property Bemisaal Guru Dutt 


The revolutionary filmmaker was known for his creative play with shadow and light, evoking an array of emotions on the celluloid that continue to intrigue decades after his death. 

Beginning next week, Saturdays are going to be directed by none other than visionary Guru Dutt as Zee Classic premieres some of his best work every Saturday at 10pm from 30th July to 17th September.

 
“Agar Shatranj ki baazi jeetni ho to das dimag se nahin ek dimag se khelna chahiye'' it was said in a memorable dialogue from India’s first ever Bombay Noir introduced by Guru Dutt with his iconic film Baazi.

Relive the nostalgic thrill with the telecast of Baazi on 30th July at 10pm.

Also lined up  for  telecast on  Zee  Classic is a  film that gave Mumbaikars their ultimate anthem - Yeh hai Bombay Meri Jaan.  The unlimited charm of Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman will  be seen with the telecast of CID on 6th August at 10pm.

Slated for telecast on August 13 at 10 pm is Aar Paar,  that had audiences  hum their heart out on  the witty number - Babuji Dheere Chalna .

Introducing light humor with an emotional arc to the Indian audience, Guru Dutt and Madhubala's striking chemistry gave an ultimate comical spectacle - Mr & Mrs 55, which will be telecast on 20th August at 10 pm.

Also  lined up for telecast on Zee Classic is the quintessential romantic drama Kaagaz ke Phool starring Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman , to be telecast on 27th August at 10pm.

“Chaudhvin ka chand ho ya aftaab ho, Jo bhi ho tum Khuda ki Kasam lajawaab ho” the designated love song picturized on Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman will take viewers down memory lane in Chaudhvin ka Chand on 3rd September at 10pm.

 Scheduled  for telecast on 17th September at 10pm is the cinematic  masterpiece  Pyaasa that is still  remembered for songs like “Yeh duniya mil bhi jaaye toh kya hai” or “Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar mila”  that translated the internal chaos of a poet into beautiful poetry. Pyaasa  completely changed the game and introduced Neo Noir to the country.

 Concluding the Guru Dutt festival will  be  the emotionally complex film Saheb Biwi  Aur  Ghulam which  will  be  telecast on 17th September at 10pm.
