Dull Eid for Bollywood as Runway 34,Heropanti2 have below average opening,Runway 34 witnesses jump on  weekend

The average run of Bollywood films at the box office in India,  amid a historic run of Hindi versions of South Indian films, continues with this week's releases Runway 34 and Heropanti2 taking below average opening in theatres across India.

The hype around Runway 34 and Heropanti2  totwithstanding,  the two films had average collections on its opening day .

While Runway 34 had earnings of Rs 3 cr on its opening day across India,  Heropanti2 earned around Rs 6.5 cr on its opening day..

The low opening day collection of Runway 34 has come as a shocker to the film trade considering the fact that the fi,  boasts of the presence of Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan.

Trade sources, however,  said that appreciation from audience,  critics and industry for Runway 34 led to a sharp growth in its collections on Saturday.  The film is likely to see another jump in its collections on Sunday,  resulting in a healthy figure on the opening weekend.

Ajay Devgn is receiving acclaim  for his work as an actor and filmmaker! Also the audience has praised the  performance by Amitbah Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh and Boman Irani .

Inspired by true incidents, “Runway 34” revolves around Captain Vikrant Khanna played by Ajay Devgn, a flying prodigy, whose flight takes a mysterious course after take-off from an international destination.

Directed and produced by Ajay Devgn, Runway 34  features  Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh.

The makers recently released the second trailer of the film.  Earlier, motion posters of the film featuring Ajay Devggn and Amitabh Bachchan in stylish avatars were also unveiled by the makers.

Ajay Devgn plays a pilot in the film while Amitabh Bachchan plays an investigative officer.

Earlier titled Mayday,  Runway 34 , an edge of the seat drama, has created tremendous buzz ahead of its release due to its excellent VFX effects  and presence of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

The trailer and promos of the film have created tremendous buzz among cinegoers.

Infact, Runway 34 has been rated in a recent survey as among the most anticipated Indian movies.

The other film of the week Heropanti2 too performed below expectations at the box office.  Despite the presence of Bollywood hunk Tiger Shroff and a liberal dose of action stunts and special effects,  Heropanti2 earned Rs 6.5 cr on its opening day, the lowest opening taken by a Tiger Shroff film.

A sequel to the 2018 film Heropanti, Heropanti2,  produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Ahmed Khan,  stars Tiger Shroff!  Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles.

The trailer and promos of the film have created a lot of buzz among cinegoers.

Trade experts said that the film hafd witnessed a huge rush in advance bookings.

Tiger Shroff as Babloo Ranawat and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the menacing Laila have come across as impressive in the trailer of the film.

The average opening taken by the two films came amid a strong run of the Hindi version of the multilingual action thriller KGF2.

KGF2 (Hindi  version) had earnings of Rs 4.25 cr in its third Friday.
