Bollywood remembers Hindi films' most handsome star Vinod Khanna on his 75th birth anniversary

The Mumbai film industry today remembered Bollywood’s most handsome star Vinod Khanna on his birth anniversary.
Among those who remembered Vinod Khanna on the occasion were Bollywood Dream Girl and Lok Sabha MP Hema Malini, Monty Premnath, the Indian film and television directors association, the National Fikm Archives of India and the Mumbai Film and TV workers union.

Remembering Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini said, 'Remembering former Union Minister and popular BJP leader and celebrated actor of Indian film industry Late Vinod Khanna Ji, on his birth anniversary. .'
In a tribute to Vinod Khanna, the National Film Archives of India said, 'Remembering Vinod Khanna on his birth anniversary. Admired for his charming looks, he entertained all with memorable performances for nearly five decades. He was posthumously honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2017 at 65th #National FilmAwards.''
The Indian film and television directors association also paid tribute to Vinod Khanna on his birth anniversary.
'Vinod Khanna with his versatile acting skills and screen presence, will always be an inspiration to many!,'the Iftda said.
In a tribute to the late actor and MP, the Mumbai film and TV workers union said, 'Actor, Villain, Sanyasi, Politician Remembering one of the most handsome actors of Bollywood, VinodKhanna on birth anniversary.
Considered one of the most handsome actors of Bollywood, Vinod Khanna was among the few actors who gave superstar Amitabh Bachchan a run for his money.
Vinod Khanna was known to be one of the highest-paid stars of 70s and the 80s , along with Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan..
He was the MP from the Gurdaspur constituency between 1998–2009 and from 2014–2017. In July 2002, Vinod Khanna became the minister for Culture and Tourism in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet. Six months later, he became the Minister of State for External Affairs.
Vinod Khanna, who made his debut in Hindi films in 1968 with Sunil Dutt's Man Ka Meet, did supporting roles and villain roles in the initial stages of his career. He played the villain in films like Sachcha Jhootha, Aan Milo Sajna, Mastana , Mera Gaon MeraDesh and Elaan.
After playing the angry young man in Gulzar 's Mere Apne and the main villain in the dacoit drama Mera Gaon Mera Desh, he played a military officer turned rogue in the film Achanak, based on events of K M Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra. The film won lot of acclaim from critics for its direction and performance by Vinod Khanna
Subsequently, Vinod Khanna played lead role in films like Kuchhe Dhaage, Gaddaar, Imtihaan, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Inkaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Rajput, The Burning Train, Qurbani, Kudrat, Parvarish, Khoon Pasina, Dayavan, Chandni and Jurm.
In 1982, at the peak of his film career, Vinod Khanna temporarily quit the film industry to follow his spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh.
After a 5-year hiatus, he returned to Hindi films with two hit films- Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate.
Khanna was posthumously awarded India's highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2018 by the Government at 65th National Film Award.
