On Dussehra, TV actors talk about the festival’s significance and reminisce their experiences of celebrations |
Talking about the celebrations of Dussehra in his home state of Maharashtra, Adish Vaidya, who assays the role of Vikram Saran in Pushpa Impossible, said, “Dussehra is always celebrated with great fervor. Dussehra is considered to be an auspicious time in Maharashtra to start and buy new things. Another popular custom in Maharashtra is to exchange bidi leaves with their friends and family. These leaves represent gold and are called Aptyaachi Paan. We make delicacies at home and that is how I celebrate Dussehra every year with my family. This festival brings a lot of positivity and good vibes.''
Reminiscing memories of Dussehra celebrations, Garima Parihar, who assays Dipti in Pushpa Impossible, said,“On this day, we get a chance to spend most of the time with our family as we are not shooting. I love how beautifully everybody takes effort to create effigies of Raavan. I love visiting melas and especially I love watching large effigies of Raavan, eating ladoos, badam halwa and many more sweets.
This festival signifies the power of good over evil, no matter what the situations are, always choose to be a good soul, I deeply believe in good deeds, if somebody has to fear, fear God as that will never let you do anything bad. Do good and you shall see good. You attract what you give out. Happy Dussehra!'
Sharing his fond memories of Dussehra celebrations, Vishal Karwal, who is grabbing eyeballs as Lord Vishnu in Dharm Yoddha Garud, said, “I have very fond memories of Dussehra. I used to live in a very small town. We celebrated this festival every year with great joy and fervor. I would get together with my friends, and we used to walk for two kms to see the effigy burn. It used to be quite a joyous day as a kid! Also, there used to be plenty of delicacies, especially sweets to gorge on. I believe that bad things always have an end and that good always triumphs over evil. This festival is a celebration of truth's victory.”
Parliament Chauhan, who assays Kadru in Dharm Yoddha Garud, said that Dussehra is a reminder for everyone that good will always prevail and triumph over bad and evil.
“Dussehra is a reminder for everyone that good will always prevail and triumph over bad and evil. There is always the hope that justice will prevail and all things bad will perish while the good will thrive. I think Dussehra is the perfect example of this faith as it is believed that on this day Lord Rama killed the demon king Raavan, and rescued his abducted wife, Sita. As kids, we used to roam around in our town from one pandal to another and enjoy the festive atmosphere,'Parul said.
Sumeet Raghavan, who assays Rajesh Wagle in Wagle Ki Duniya, said that Dussehra holds a lot of meaning even in contemporary scenario
“Dussehra is one of the major festivals of India. It is celebrated throughout the country with great zeal and enthusiasm. The thought behind Dussehra is very strong and holds a lot of meaning even in contemporary scenarios. Good always triumphs over evil. The essence of the festival is that an individual is on the right path as long as he adheres to his core morals and values, and this is what I believe in. Let this festival bring more joy, happiness and positive vibes into everyone’s life,'he said.
