She impressed viewers with her portrayal of the cute and endearing Naina Chauhan in the Colors TV show Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan, telecast on the channel in 2016.

Lately,  Actress Ankitta Sharma has caught the attention of viewers as the sincere and the righteous Dr Pragya in the web series Whistleblower,  being telecast on SonyLIV digital platform.

With Whistleblower,  Ankitta has returned to the screen after a long gap since Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan.


On the long gap since Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan , Ankitta said, 'I was waiting for the right project. After doing a few television shows,  I made a conscious decision to do shows only on OTT.  I wanted to do the kind if shows that are made on OTT. '

Ankitta Sharma said that Whistleblower is the kind of show she has been waiting to do since a long time.

'It is a show that I am really excited about . It is a series set in the medical world. Whistleblower tells me story of what happens when merit takes a backseat.,'she said.

Talking about her character,  Ankitta said, 'I assay the role of Pragya,  a final year medical student  Pragya is someone who believes in standing up for what is right and who is concerned about the corruption in the PMT entrance examination. '

Ankitta Sharma, who made her debut on television with the historical drama Lajwanti , rose to fame with her portrayal of Naina Chauhan in the Colors TV show Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan.

'It has been a memorable journey for me as an actor.  I began my career with the reality show Ticket to Bollywood.  Thereafter I ventured into television. However, after doing a few television shows I made a conscious decision to do a show on OTT.

Today, I am happy to be a part of something that I am excited about and for which I have been waiting since a long time, 'she said.

Hailing from Chandigarh, Ankitta entered the field of acting after winning the reality show Ticket to Bollywood in the year 2014.. She made her television debut with the Zee TV show Laajwanti in which she played the lead role.

She rose to popularity with the role of Naina Chauhan in Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan, telecast on Colors TV.

Being streamed on SonyLIV digital platform,  Whistleblower,  based on the PMT scam 2013, is an insightful story about scammers who use Proxy and contacts for paper leaks and planned cheating.

Sanket, an intern doctor studying at a government hospital, discovers a massive medical entrance exam scam that has been running for years. Lured by greed he becomes a part of it, only to eventually realize that all is lost in his perfect life - loses his father and his girlfriend walks out of his life. Now, determined to find his father's killer he turns into a whistleblower, unaware of how deep the rot ran.

Whistleblower stars Ritwik Bhowmik, Ankitta Sharma,  Ridhi Khakhar,  Sachin Khedkar,  Sonali Kilkarni, Ravi Kishan and Shachi Pathak.
