I want to start a conversation through my films; Ayushmann Khurrana

He has won praise from the audiences as well as critics for his unconventional choice of films, most of which tell stories of men battling social norms.

From his debut film Vicky Donor, which dealt with the issue of sperm donation to Badhai Ho, which was the story of a couple deciding to become parents in their middle age or Shubh Mangal Savdhan, which dealt with the subject of erectile dysfunction or Bala, a film dealing with the issue of male pattern baldness,  Ayushmann Khurrana has established a niche for himself as an actor adept at portrayal of men battling societal norms.

His upcoming film Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui also deals with a controversial issue.  It deals with turbulent love story between a bodybuilder (Ayushmann Khurrana) and a dance teacher who is a transgender.

Ahead of release of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui,  which releases in cinemas on December 10, Ayushmann Khurrana said that he wants to start a conversation through each of his films.

'I always try to put across a message to society through my films. I want to start a conversation through my films,''Ayushmann Khurrana said during the promotions of his film on the Kapil Sharma show on Sony entertainment television.

Ayushmann said that it is always his effort to make a value addition through each of his films.

Talking about his latest film,  which stars him opposite Vaani Kapoor,  Ayushmann Khurrana said,'It is an interesting subject. Its an eye opener for society. People will be entertained while taking away a message from it.'

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor,  Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is the story of Manu, a bodybuilder from Chandigarh falling in love with Maanvi, a Zumba teacher.

All seems well until a revelation of her being a  transgender causes turmoil in their love story.

The film , which has been produced by T series in association with Guy I  the sky pictures,  has been shot in Chandigarh.

What is unique about the fikm is that it has been entirely shot during the pandemic .

The director of the film said that the film was earlier scheduled to be shot in Delhi

However,  due to rise in Covid-19 cases in Delhi and the consequent lockdown,  the film's shooting location was shifted to Chandigarh

'The film  was earlier based in Delhi. But due to Covid there was a lockdown there. Moreover the huge crowds there increased risk of Corona. So, Ayushmann khurana suggested that we shift the film to Chandigarh,'director Abhishek Kapoor said. 

Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in the film Bala. He will be seen in films like Anek and Doctor G in the coming months.

Vaani Kapoor was last seen in the film Bell Bottom,  which starred her opposite Akshay Kumar.
