Women like Deepika are an inspiration for many others in society; Additi Gupta

She has caught the attention of viewers with the strong and forward looking Dr Deepika Sinha who fights discrimination against women in society and at the workplace.

Amid the accolades for the new show Dhadkan; Zindaggii Kii,  a show on Sony entertainment television that tells the story of a woman challenging patriarchy in society and workplace to pursue her career goals,  the show's lead actor Additi Gupta says that she is blessed to have got an opportunity to do a show which starts conversations in society on the subject of discrimination against women at home and at the workplace.



Actor Additi Gupta plays the protagonist Deepika Sinha in Dhadkan; Zindaggii Kii,  being telecast on Sony entertainment television 




'Playing the character of Deepika Sinha,  who challenges patriarchy at her home and workplace to pursue her dreams and goals , is a unique opportunity for me as an actor.  I am blessed to have got an opportunity to be a part of the show.

I am extremely excited to be a part of the show.  It is unlike any how that I have done before,'Additi Gupta ,who was last seen in the television show Kaal Bhairav Rahasya on Star Bharat,  said.

The series will show Deepika struggle to sustain her position of the chief at a hospital despite being the best doctor.

Talking about  her character ,  Additi Gupta said, 'Deepika is a fiercely independent woman who challenges the prevailing discrimination against women at the workplace and society.  She is an extremely progressive woman who is truly an inspiration for other women in society.

She is someone who doesn’t give up on her dreams and defies the stereotypes in her life and career. '

Additi Gupta said that as a person,  she strongly connected to the character of Deepika Sinha.

'Deepika is an extremely strong woman who knows what she wants in life.  As a woman  I instantly connected to her character.  Deepika's go getter attitude and her determination to pursue her dreams are something that I strongly identified with as a woman, 'Additi Gupta said.

Lauding the theme of the show,  Additi said, 'one of the great things about the show is that it aims to start conversation in society on continuing discrimination against women at home and at the workplace.

It is high time that we ask ourselves this question as to why women are denied their due at home and at the workplace. I am happy that shows like Dhadkan are highlighting this issue.

Additi has earlier worked in shows like Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil, Qubool Hai, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil and Ishqbaaz. 

The show features Rohit Purohit , who played Alexander in the period drama Porus,  in the male lead. Besides Additi Gupta and Rohit Purohit, Dhadkan; Zindaggi Kii also features Nishanth Singh and Raghav Dhir in key roles.

Dhadkan; Zindaggii Kii is being aired on Sony entertainment television every Monday to Friday at 10 pm .
