By Rajesh Ahuja

They say that one needs to be wary of  the wrath of a woman fighting to protect her honour and her family .

Women may be considered as the weaker among the two sexes when it comes to physical strength but the same woman holds within her a huge reserrvoi of mental strength which makes her rally around her family in times of a crisis with all her efforts directed towards the single minded objective of ensuring safety and well being of her family

Season 2 of Web series Aarya, currently streaming on Disney Hotstar, is the story of a woman taking charge to protect her family from her adversaries.

Aarya2 is an engrossing story of a woman doing all it takes to protect her family

Season 1 saw Aarya take charge after murder of her husband Tej(Chandrachur Singh) and strike a deal with the police to ensure her family's security in return for her turning approver against the drug mafia.  Her family is settled in a foreign country away from the clutches of the drug mafia in India.

Season 2 begins with Aarya forced to return to India against her wishes to testify against the people involved in the illegal drug business,  including her father and younger brother.   What was expected to be a brief visit,  however, turns out to be a prolonged one for Aarya and her family as she finds herself entwined in the happenings  at home.

With the police and the drug mafia and her old enemies  gunning for her and with the security of her family stake, Aarya is forced to bring out the tigress within her to ensure that no harm comes to her family.

Screenplay by Sanyukta Chawla Shaikh and Anu Singh Chaudhary  is engrossing and keeps you glued to the proceedings.  While the story moves at a slow pace, the director Ram Madhvani manages to hold interest of the viewers with regular twists and turns.  The series specially  keeps you engaged with the emotional moments showing the protagonist Aarya's love for her family.

Sushmita Sen holds your attention with her virtuoso act as Aarya Sareen,  who will do all it takes to protect her family from her adversaries be it the police , the drug mafia or the Russians. Season 2 sees her  start off as a woman reluctant to take on her enemies.  However,  as the show progresses, and she finds herself being forced to confront her adversaries to protect her family,  she becomes a  tigress rallying around her family and doing all it takes to protect them. She specially shines in the emotional scenes with her son Adi(Pratyaksh Panwar) and daughter Aru(Virti Vaghani)

It is yet another award worthy performance by Sushmita Sen.
