Playing a multi faceted character like Urvashi in Matsya Kaand a great opportunity; Zoya Afroz

The limelight in the con thriller Matsya Kaand,  currently streaming on Mx player,  may be on Ravii Dubey,  who assays the protagonist Matsya but the female lead of the series Zoya Afroz has also grabbed eyeballs as smart and today's woman Urvashi who plays an important role in the con jobs done by Matsya.


Actress Zoya Afroz says that playing the character of Urvashi in the con thriller Matsya Kaand has been a great opportunity 





In a chat about the show,  which has caught the attention of viewers with its engrossing screenplay and edge of the seat thrills, Zoya said that playing the character of Urvashi is a great opportunity for her.

'My character of Urvashi in Matsya Kaand is quite multi faceted . What I specially liked about it was that there are several layers to her personality.

Urvashi is a go getter. She is extremely smart and clear about what he wants in life. She is a strong headed girl.  At the same time,  there is also a wild side to her,'Zoya Afroz said.

Zoya says that she was quite evident about playing Urvashi when she heard the script.

'The character is quite different from what I have done before.  Hearing the script I felt that there are a lot of similarities between the character of Urvashi and myself.

Infact, the moment I heard the script,  I felt like the role of Urvashi was Tailor made for me, 'she said.

'As an actor,  playing urvashi has been a great opportunity for me,'she said.

While the audiences are enjoying the edge of the seat thrills in Matsya Kand,  praise has come for the performance of the lead actors Piyush Mishra,  Ravii Dubey , Ravi Kishan and Zoya Afroz.

Zoya says that she is fortunate to be sharing screen space with accomplished actors like Piyush Mishra,  Ravii Dubey and Ravi Kishan .

'I am fortunate to have got an opportunity to work with accomplished actors like Ravi Kishan and Ravii Dubey and Piyush Mishra.  I got to learn a lot from these actors,'she said.

She says that she is extremely excited about the response to the series.

A Miss India International 2021 , competing at the Glamanand Supermodel India contest, Zoya will represent India at the Miss International 2022 beauty pageant in Japan.

Zoya Afroz made her debut as a child artist in the television series Kora Kagaz in 1998. She subsequently played a child artist in Sooraj Barjatya's Hum Saath Saath Hain , Mann and Kuch Naa Kaho.

She made her Bollywood debut as an adult in the thriller The Expose in 2014.

Later, she was cast in the 2017 film Sweetiee Weds NRI opposite Himanshu Kohli. In 2018, she appeared in the Tamil film Paamban.

Zoya them appeared for the 2020 edition of the annual Kingfisher calendar.

 She was last seen in the film Kabaad The Coin opposite Vivaan Shah.

Spread across Delhi, Meerut, Sambhar and Jaipur, Matsya Kaand is the story of an honourable con artist, Matsya Thada (Ravii Dubey) who conducts his kaand with aptitude, intelligence, and charm rather than using his brawn. 

The series, directed by Ajay Bhuyan, also stars the very popular Piyush Mishra, along with Madhur Mittal, Rajesh Sharma and Naved Aslam amongst others in key roles .
