Shahid Kapoor may have been the focus of attention in the trailer and promos of Jersey but another actor who has made her presence felt during the promotions of the film is Mrunal Thakur .
Mrunal, who plays the female lead in the Cricket themed film, hogs equal limelight in the trailer and promos of the film.

Ahead of the release of Jersey in Cinemas across the country on December 31, Mrunal Thakur said that it is an extremely special film for her.
'Jersey is an extremely special film for me. It is a film close to my heart. I feel blessed to be a part of the film, 'Mrunal said during the promotions of the film.
Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnannuri, Jersey is the story of Arjun Raichand, a thirty six year old cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago and is now aiming to play for Indian team.
A remake of Gowtam Tinnannuri's 2019 Telugu film of the same title, Jersey stars Shahid Kapoor as Arjun Raichand while Mrinal Thakur features as his wife .
The film, which has been produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju and Suryadevara, also features Shahid Kapoor's father Pankaj Kapur in a key role.
Mrunal Thakur said that Jersey is a film that is about a triumph of the Human spirit.
'It s a film filled with a lot of emotions,'she said.
Jersey is a film that has been shot entirely during the pandemic.
Mrunal said that the entire cast and crew have worked really hard to complete the film amid the raging pandemic in the country.
'The team of Jersey has worked extremely hard to complete the film during the difficult period of the pandemic. I can't wait for people to watch the movie. I wanted the film to come in the theatres where people can go with their families to watch the film and enjoy it,'she said.
On working with Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur said that she was completely in awe of him, having been a big fan of the actor.
Recounting an incident during the shooting of the film wherein she had to slap Shahid, Mrunal said she was very scared before doing the scene .
Recalling the shooting of the scene, Mrunal Thakur said, 'slapping Shahid Kapoor in the film was extremely difficult. I was extremely scared before the scene. I constantly asked myself how can I slap Shahid.
Ultimately, it took me a lot of effort for me to do it. It was extremely difficult scene for me. '
The film was earlier scheduled to release in August last year but it' was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jersey marks Shahid Kapoor's return to the big screen after a long gap. He was last seen in the film Kabir Singh, released in 2019.
Mrunal Thakur was last seen in Ram Madhvani's Dhamaka, where she co starred with Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan.
She was also seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofan as the female lead opposite Farhan Akhtar.
She will be seen next in the film Aankh Micholi, scheduled to release in 2022.
