Spider man No Way Home heads for a total of nearly Rs 150 cr in opening week, earns Rs 139 cr in 7 days

Continuing with its strong run at the box office in India, the Hollywood film Spider-Man No Way Home is heading for a total of nearly Rs 150 cr in its opening week,  with the collections of the film reaching nearly 140 cr in seven days.

Spider-Man No Way Home earned Rs 8.5 cr on Wednesday,  taking its seven day total from Cinemas in India to Rs 139 cr,the highest earnings of a film in India post the Pandemic.


Spider-Man No Way Home earns Rs 149 cr in 7 days,  nears the Rs 150 cr mark 


The film, which earned Rs 33 cr on its opening day on December 16 and had collections of Rs 109 cr in its opening weekend,  saw a slight drop in its collections during the weekdays. The collections of the film in many areas like Delhi NCR and Punjab were hit by the Hindi version of the Telugu film Pushpa.   Spider-Man No Way Home, however , continued to draw crowds in areas like Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Trade experts said that the film is likely to reach a figure of Rs 147 to 148 cr in its opening week,  which would make it the highest earning film post the Pandemic.

With audiences continuing to throng theatres to watch the film,, it could dent the earnings of the Hindi film 83, which releases in cinemas on December 24.

Keeping in view the continuing craze for the film,  it could well reach the Rs 200 cr mark by the end of its second weekend.

Released on December 16 in English , Hindi,  Tamil and Telugu on nearly 3300 cinema screens across India,  Spider-Man No Way Home took a stupendous opening of nearly Rs 33 cr , surpassing the opening day figures of Sooryavanshi .

The film has reported maximum collections  from Delhi NCR,  Punjab,  Hyderabad and Bangalore. 

The opening taken by Spider-Man No Way Home has caused cheer in the film trade, which has been witnessing  films released post Sooryavanshi like Bunty Aur Babli2,  Satyameva Jayate,  Antim The Final Truth,  Tadap and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui record below average collections. 

Trade experts are optimistic that the euphoric response  from cinelovers will continue with films scheduled for release in the coming weeks,  including 83, Jersey, RRR , Radhe Shyam, Prithviraj ,Attack , Badhai Do , Gangubhai Kathiawadi ,Jayeshbhai Jordaar ,Bachchan Pandey , Shamshera and Bhool Bhulaiya 2 .
