Need to raise questions if anything wrong is happening in society; Sonali Kulkarni

She is currently winning plaudits from audiences as well as critics for her performance in the Sony Liv web series Whistleblower as Zenab, the editor of a news channel who helps unravel a scam in the medical entrance examination .

Amid accolades for the show,  which is currently streaming on SonyLIV,  noted film, television and theatre actress Sonali Kulkarni says that she  is happy to be  part of a show that sends across a message that one needs to ask questions about and alert people against a wrong happening in society.

'Whistleblower is basically about a lot of wrong things happening around us that we tend to ignore and turn our backs to.   Many of us tend to turn a blind eye if we see something wrong happening around us. 

The  new web series Whistleblower gives a message that if we see something wrong happening around us, we need not get scared or overwhelmed.  Instead, we need to ask questions about it and alert others about it,'Sonali Kulkarni said in a chat.

Talking about her role in Whistleblower,  Sonali said, 'I play Zenab, the editor of a news channel who helps to bring out the corruption in a medical entrance exam with the help of a  doctor Sanket.'

Whistleblower marks the debut of Sonali Kulkarni on the digital medium.

'I am extremely excited about my debut on OTT .  Digital medium enables viewers in any part of the World to see your work. I am happy that viewers in any part of the world will now be able to see my work,'Sonali said.

Written by Ajay Monga and directed by Manoj Pillai, Whistleblower ,based on the PMT scam of 2013, is the story about scamsters using Proxy and contacts for paper leaks and planned cheating.

Sanket, an intern doctor studying at a government hospital, discovers a massive medical entrance exam scam that has been running for years. Lured by greed he becomes a part of it, only to eventually realize that all is lost in his perfect life.
He turns into a whistleblower.

It stars Ritwik Bhowmik , Ankitta Sharma, Ashish Verma, Ridhi Khakhar,  Sonali kulkarni,  Sachin Khedekar , Ravi Kishan and Zakir Hussain.

A veteran film, television and theatre actress,  Sonali Kulkarni has worked in Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil films. She is famous for her roles in  films like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Doghi, Deool, Gulabjaam, Dil Chahta Hai, Singham, Taxi No 9211 and Bharat.
