Amid espionage dramas, crime thrillers and engrossing mysteries on various OTT platforms,  the new web series Dil Bekaraar on Disney Hotstar is grabbing eyeballs with its sweet romance of the 80s, a cast comprising evergreen stars Raj Babbar,  Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure and an engrossing family drama.

Based on Anuja Chauhan's best selling novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls,  Dil Bekaraar, which began streaming on Disney Hotstar from November 26, takes viewers on a nostalgic trip to the charming, magical and beautiful era of the 80s, the era of the telephones,  telegrams and the Gold Spot.

A story of the Thakur family,  comprising Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur,  his wife Mamta and their five beautiful but troublesome daughters,  Dil Bekaraar brings back the old world charm of 80s Delhi.

, Dil Bekaraar  takes viewers through the crazy, sweet and sour life of the Thakur family,  set  in Lutyens Delhi in the 80s.

The series  provides viewers a peek into the crazy life of the Thakur family with Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta spending their days watching anxiously over their five beautiful (but troublesome daughters,  each one of them having their own tantrums and their own style.

The most mature of the Thakur girls is Debjani Thakur (Sahher Bambba) , who works as a news anchor.  The series takes viewers through the sweet and sour love story of Debjani,  nicknamed Dabbu, with a journalist, Dylan Shekhawat played by Akshay Oberoi.

Dil Bekaraar follows the love story and the intense ideological clash between Debjani Thakur and Dylan Shekhawat

Produced by Sobo Films and directed by Habib Faisal of Do Dooni Chaar fame, Dil Bekaraar will gently transport the viewers to the golden times as they experience the simplicity and find relevance in the Thakur Family.

Dil Bekaraar is a series that will be loved by both - book, and  cinema lovers!  Dil Bekaraar has been adapted to recreate the 80s era as audiences witness the eventful lives of the members of the Thakur family. 

Dil Bekaraar will transport the viewers to the golden times of 80s and 90s as they will experience the simplicity and find relevance in the little nok-jhok of the Thakur Family. Since the show’s theme is set in the 80s and has a mix of old-school romances and family dynamics, it perfectly resonates with audiences across different age groups, proving to be the ideal family entertainment experience. 

The show stars some of the most beloved evergreen stars including Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, and Raj Babbar, who will be seen together after almost 30 years, making their digital debut! The charm and chemistry between the trio will hook the audiences in this family drama. 

Another USP of Dil Bekaraar is the brilliant performances by Akshay Oberoi and Sahher Bambba and the sparkling chemistry between the two actors who share screen space for the first time.

Both Akshay Oberoi and Sahher Bamba have been winning hearts with their performances. 

Sahher, who was last seen in The Empire, as Mughal Emperor Babar's wife Maaham,  is seen essaying Debjani Thakur’s role in the show while Akshay Oberoi plays Dylan Shekhawat.

In Dil Bekaraar,  both Debjani and Dylan are shown to be forward looking and progressive individuals who are way ahead of their time. Their  ideological differences and professions makes them a fascinating duo on the screen.

Fans of the book are sure to  applaud the on-screen chemistry between Akshay and Sahher, and befitting their respective characters

A perfect amalgamation of 80s drama and new-age romance, Dil Bekaraar comes across as a perfect family entertainer for the audiences.

Besides Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon , Padmini Kolhapure ,Sahher Bambba and Akshay Oberoi Dil Bekaraar also features Medha Shankar, Sukhmani Sadana among many others in pivotal roles.
